Unser Kater war verschwunden und um zu schauen, ob er sich möglicherweise nachts im Garten rumtreibt, habe ich mir eine Wildkamera zugelegt. Es ist erstaunlich, wer uns nachts besucht. Der Kater war leider nicht dabei.
I got myself a trail camera, because our cat had disappeared and I wanted to see, if he might be hanging around the garden at night. It's amazing who visits at night. Unfortunately, our cat was not among them.

Ich kaufte mir eine Ceyomur CY50 für 34 Euro. Die von mir gewählte Kamera hat 36 durch Bewegung aktivierte Infrarot LEDs. Sie hat einen Gurt zum Befestigen an Bäumen oder Ähnlichem. Die Kamera hat 20 MP, für meine Zwecke völlig ausreichend. Die Aufnahmen werden auf einer normalen SD Speicherkarte gespeichert. Das Gehäuse ist robust und tatsächlich wasserdicht. Die Kamera stand im Regen und es entstand kein Schaden, sie war innen völlig trocken. Betrieben wird die Kamera mit acht AA Batterien. Im Lieferumfang ist auch eine Wandhalterung enthalten.
I bought a Ceyomur CY50 for 34 euros. The camera I chose has 36 infrared LEDs are activated by motion. It has a strap for attaching to trees or similar structures. The camera has 20 MP, which is quite sufficient for my purposes. The images are stored on a normal SD memory card. The case is robust and actually waterproof. The camera stood in the rain and no damage was done, it was completely dry inside. The camera is powered by eight AA batteries. A wall mount is included.

Es gibt drei Einstellungsmodi: Ein, Aus und Test. Die Ersten erklären sich selbst. Im Testmodus kann man die Einstellungen an der Kamera vornehmen. Man wird über ein Menü gut durch die einzelnen Funktionen geführt. Es gibt die Optionen Bild, Video und Bild + Video., Man kann die Speicherkarte formatieren, die Auflösung wählen (maximal 20 MP) und eine Fotoserie von maximal drei Fotos auslösen. Die maximale Videolänge beträgt fünf Minuten und läßt sich in Abstufungen auch verkürzen. Die Helligkeit der Infrarot LEDs lässt sich in drei Stufen regulieren. Es gibt noch weitere Funktionen wie: Zielaufnahmezeit, Zeitraffer, Datum, Seriennummer (ein oder aus), Temperatur, Piepton (den hatte ich natürlich aus), Audioaufnahme, Stempel und Passwortschutz. Man kann das Gehäuse mit einem kleinen Schloss oder einer Plombe sichern, um den Zugriff auf die SD-Karte zu verhindern.
There are three setting modes: On, Off and Test. The first ones are self-explanatory. In test mode, you can adjust the settings on the camera. A menu guides you through the individual functions. There are the options Picture, Video and Picture + Video, you can format the memory card, select the resolution (maximum 20 MP) and trigger a photo series of a maximum of three photos. The maximum video length is five minutes and can be shortened in increments. The brightness of the infrared LEDs can be adjusted in three steps. There are other functions such as: Target recording time, time lapse, date, serial number (on or off), temperature, beep (I had that off of course), autio recording, stamp and password protection. You can secure the housing with a small lock or seal to prevent access to the SD card.

Im Laufe der Aufnahmen hat der Nachbarskater (Rocky) dann randaliert, er wollte wohl nicht so gern aufs Foto. Das war bei einer Videoaufnahme sehr witzig zu sehen und zu hören. Für meine Zwecke reichte die Kamera aus, für gute Wildfotografien ist sie natürlich nicht ausreichend, zur Tierbeobachtung meiner Meinung nach gut geeignet. Ich zeige Euch hier zum einen Nachtaufnahmen und im Vergleich Tagaufnahmen von teilweise den selben Tieren. Über Anregungen und Kommentare freue ich mich wie immer.
During the filming, the neighbour's cat (Rocky) went on the rampage, he didn't want to be in the photo. This was very funny to see and hear in the video recording. The camera was sufficient for my purposes. For good wildlife photography it is not sufficient of course, but in my opinion it is well suited for observing animals. I compare night shots and day shots of partly the same animals for As always, I am happy to receive suggestions and comments.

Du musst jetzt ganz stark sein Gunnar. In Berlin gibt es keine Schneeleoparden und keine Luchse. Vielleicht im Tierpark, aber ganz sicher nicht im Garten.
