I live in the Republic of Ireland. We saw little trouble during The Troubles, just the odd bomb here and there. My father was an ardent supporter of the IRA and a firm believer in a united Ireland. Far from fleeing the conflict, he would regularly take us up North so we could see British occupation in action.
