Spell Casting Ideas For The Fellow Magicians

in #witchcraft20 days ago

For the witches out there, Halloween is coming, so to begin the spooky energy of our dearest holiday, let me introduce you to two uncommon ways of spell casting which are quite simple yet fun to do and very very powerfull

Mirror Magic

In this one, first you should create a magic mirror.
There are several methods of creating a magic mirror. The first, and simplest, is to use a single mirror. First, consecrate the mirror like you would any other of your magical tools. Place the mirror, standing up, in a bowl of black salt, which is used in many hoodoo traditions to provide protection and repel negativity.
In the bowl, facing the mirror, place something that represents your target – the person who is cursing you. This can be a photo, a business card, a small doll, an item that they own, or even their name written on a piece of paper. This will reflect that individual’s negative energy back to them.
You can also create a mirror box. It works on the same principle as a single mirror, but uses several mirrors to line the inside of a box. Just hot-glue them in place so they don’t move around. Once you’ve done so, place a magical link to the person inside the box, and then seal the box. You may use black salt if you wish to add a little more magical oomph.
One of my favorite methods of making a mirror box is to incorporate the shards of a mirror you’ve smashed with a hammer while chanting the person’s name. This is a LOT of fun – and smashing anything with a hammer is pretty therapeutic – but be careful not to cut yourself. Wear gloves and safety glasses if you opt for this approach.

Voice Magic

I think the use of one's voice definitely increases the magical ability of whatever is being practiced. Not that you can't do anything if you don't speak, but applying your voice puts more intention and energy towards what is being focused on. Literally sending sound into the air, energy is sent out. Speaking also makes something in your mind or heart more real. Once its out in the world, you can't take it back.
Voices can be pleasant and melodic with a tone all their own. Voices can be rough, coarse, and harsh. They help express emotion and what a person is truly feeling in the moment. The ability to speak well and use language is also a talent that some posses in a better ability than some others. It can for sure be a spiritual gift that can be applied in a practice.

There is a concept in the Kemetic practice of magic (heka) that words are the most powerful spell there is, written or spoken. That's how most of their magic was done - it's why we have the Book of the Dead. In their magical texts, they would write the spoken parts in a different color ink to indicate that you speak it aloud, and they are usually invocations. They also had multiple names, which were said to help protect from negative energies if someone spoke ill of them. Isis derives her power in magic from knowing the true name of Ra.
Written and spoken word having power is very much echoed in a lot of other pantheons, religions, and practices with not speaking the name of certain entities, lest you summon them or bring attention to them and give them power. There's a reason we make up names like windy-boy and flesh-pedestrian to avoid saying the real thing. Some demons were said to be summoned just by saying their name. Hell, even in fiction this is a thing. Remember Beetlejuice? Saying his name three times summoned him.
I've personally adopted the spoken word into my practice in the way of setting intention and commanding. If I speak my intent with my whole chest and with confidence, it's far more effective than if I think it. Partly because racing thoughts, and partly because I am speaking it into existence.
