Random tuesday's thoughts

in #write6 years ago

Yay, yesterday I were extra busy writing: just got the mood for translating the last book and it is done, more than 100 A4 sized pages translated... now just checking and reviewing them all to be sure all fits perfectly and nothing gets lost in translation. A big success, a lot of anxiety when had to stop just to fulfill body basic needs (it doesn't include eating, of course, but lots of tea), and the difficult part to be done more relaxed. Also, had time to recheck if image would suit the cover. And it does!

Sociologist me dropped a bomb thought this weekend that has been growing and meditate it: about a century ago, spanish flu attacked the world, and we survived, two centuries ago another pandemic came accross our path, and about this frequency since ever. Now, what has happened we are all so frightened? Oh yes, I think (and it is my sole own opinion) we humans, after the epidemiologic transition after the spanish flu and first world war, we forgot about these issues, we hyperprotected ourselves blocking our own inmune system and letting this (not so) new virical opportunist enjoy our allergies and lack of training (apart, maybe, of vaccines). Also, we have demonized illnesses and death, loading all these natural proccesses to the hospitals; I'm not telling we all had to stay at home if we had it, no way, I'm talking that we go to emergencies for a headache we could get rid resting, meditating, drinking enough water, and getting scared and out of control because of fear we could have it. And still, we will survive, not the strongest, not the fastest, we'll survive because we will adapt to this menace, to these changes. Hope you, dear reader, lives long to see the next big pandemia as some of our grands and say, "the other one was harder, why? you didn't learn anything of how we dealed with it? youth never listens!"

Also, I have heard our kids are going to pass their exams and marks and will not go to school till september, and two weeks after, they'll be back home because the second wave of COVID19 will be back and... will you be ready for another full year of homeschooling and work from home? At least, my kid is suffering a full inmersion in english language and culture, at last! As in school they are learning soooo very little in that language... isn't it nice? Now he's craving to go to London and discover how amazing is the place for his fav artistic activities!

People, stay at home, write, learn, and make a good day every single day!
