I sat at the desk across from him. “A problem with his computer crashed,” he said. “His computer crashed last week. We had him replace the hardware and the operating system, but the crash was still occurring. It was confusing. Disparate hardware and software setups were messing up. It’s like a computer knows it’s here if it’s not running it’s own operating system.”

“Okay,” I said.

“The night before it crashed, we passed him in the hallway. I said oh, hi to him. He seemed confused. He asked me if I had a problem. I said I was fine. Then he said that I looked ill. I said I was fine. Then he said that he knew that I was ill. He said that he was going to get me some soup. He said that it was yogurt. I told him I would get it myself. I told him that I wasn’t ill. I told him that I was fine. Then I said, but maybe I would stop by the café and grab one to be healthy. He seemed to think that I was confused about what I was eating. He said yogurt was the best for you. He said he was sure that I would enjoy it. He said it was homemade. I said I had been eating fruit. I said I didn’t know if I would be getting yogurt since I didn’t buy it. He said that he would stop to get it for me and I should wait while he got it. He said he was going to make sure that I had some of that yogurt because I had been healthy with my fruit.”

“So he went to get it.”

“Yeah.”

“So you continued to work.”

“Yeah.”

“You must’ve finished up your work.”

“Yeah. I was getting ready to clock out. I was ready to clock out. I told him that I was about to clock out. I was going to clock out.”

“When he got back with the yogurt and put it on your desk, what did he say?”

“He told me that he was sorry that he interrupted me. He said he was sorry that he interrupted my day to get the yogurt. He said he was sorry that it was made from raw milk and didn’t have any preservatives, so he was going to eat it as it was. I figured it was my loss, but he said that it was something I could do on my own. He said I shouldn’t worry about it. He said he understood that I was a busy person. He said that he was going to eat his yogurt. I told him that it was my dilemma. He said that he was never going to eat it. He told me that he understood that it was a dilemma for me and that he would eat it.”

“Did he eat the yogurt and?”

“Yeah. He said that it tasted good. He said he was going to enjoy it. He said he was going to eat it while it was still cold.”

“So he ate the yogurt in front of you.”

“Yes.”

“Did you think it was weird that he was eating raw yogurt in front of you?”

“Yeah, I thought it was weird. I thought it was weird. I didn’t know why he wanted me to eat it. If he wanted me to eat it, he could’ve just asked me to eat it. I was confused by it. I didn’t know if he was trying to trick me so that I would eat it or if he was going to eat it himself. I figured he was going to, you know, eat it, but I didn’t know why he wanted me to eat it.”

“Does it bother you that he ate the yogurt in front of you?”

“It did at first, but I didn’t say anything. I didn’t say anything to him because I didn’t know if he was going to eat it himself. He said that he was going to eat it right after he ate the yogurt that I had bought for him. He said he was going to eat it while it was still cold. He said he had been wanting to try it. He said he had never had raw yogurt and thought it would be great. He said he was going to enjoy it. He said he was going to eat it cold. He said he was going to get yogurt for himself. He said his yogurt had fruit in it, but it was still healthy for him. He said it was affordable. He said it was good for you. He said it was great for you. He said it would give me a kick in the pants. He said eating it cold would give me a kick in the pants.”

“Did he buy it for you?”

“Yeah, he bought it for me. He told me to go to the café and buy some. He told me that it was healthy and he had some at his desk. I asked him if he had paid for his yogurt and he said that he didn’t, but that he would pay for mine because I was buying the yogurt. He told me to keep it and that he would buy his yogurt later.”

“Did you buy it?”

“I did buy it. I told him to get his yogurt. I told him that we would split it up. I told him that we had our own yogurt. I told him we were eating our own yogurt. I told him that we were having a little family ownership around the yogurt. I said that it was our yogurt. I said it was our yogurt. I said we were eating our own yogurt.
