I wrote a long reply to your wee response and just lost it - damn editing function on Hive - GRRR! Basically I said we all have to eat among other things - even in novels? Yes, to an extent - Warhol did a slice of life video of a person sleeping for 8 hrs - not smart. Johnathan Swift satirized travelogues by writing boring parodies - likewise a lame move. But so much of art is not life but a selection from life. But I won't go as far as Hardy saying it has to be exceptional people experiencing exceptional things, but it should be a cut above staring at walls and watching wallpaper peel, LOL!!
