He wondered how Springfield would compare to New York. He had just gotten cozy with the idea of being a hero in New York when he was being arrested. That’s not heroes are supposed to start their careers, and it certainly wasn’t going to be what he was remembered for. He was determined to make a positive change in the world, so he went the next day to the police station.
“Excuse me, officers, do you know any part of the town that is particularly dangerous or high in crime?” Ric asked two of them as they were walking in, offering to hold the door for them also.
“Why, are you one of those ‘real-life superheroes?’” One of the officers looked to the other and they both laughed. “Why do you want to know? Kind of a weird question to ask randomly, you know.”
“I know, I just am curious for a college experiment and survey,” Ric replied quickly thinking. “We’re looking to see the ratio of college graduates in the city relative to where they grew up here and where their parents live. It’s for a marketing class.”
