Catch up on Part 1 of writing a successful blog with this link.
Since June, when I joined Steemit, I've kept notes about blogging. I opened a file on Word and entered anything I found helpful or that I wanted to remember. Now, it's become redundant as I know exactly what it says without looking. This is my 1941st post so that's not surprising.
I thought I'd share some of the notes in case they help newbies. So here goes:
Do You Use Images and Videos?

Buffer Blog
Most blog readers appreciate images that support the text. Some like videos too.
Your own photos, as long as they are relevant, provide excellent images. There are also many free image site you can use. Unsplash is an excellent one.
Posting a series of images with no text explanation is to be avoided but may get you a few viewings as it's claimed a picture is worth 100 words.
Videos are good if they have been made especially for your blog. The kind of post that consists of someone else's video only will be viewed by people with a particular interest in the subject. You are unlikely to attract new viewers with it.
Here are some questions to ask yourself about your images and videos:
Are my images or videos supplementary to claims or facts in my article?
Do my videos work properly?
Do my images and videos add enjoyment, look pleasing or do they emphasize a point?
Does Your Blog Add Value?

Pinterest
Steemit users will upvote you if they like your content but you can improve your chances of a vote by asking yourself these questions:
Does this blog help people solve a problem?
Does this blog answer a question?
Is this blog entertaining?
Does it provide expertise?
You may think of other useful questions you can add to the list.
You should be able to answer 'yes' to at least one of these questions.
So, there are a couple more suggestions from my notes. Following my own advice, I'll stop here. I hope they are helpful to Newbies.
Thank you for reading!
very useful!) you take this task seriously)
Um maybe... I just thought it would make a useful article for Newbies. I am not a very serious character really :)
