I was turned off from Steemit after couple of weeks. I had given up.
The problem was not that I was not rewarded for my work . The problem was witnessing work which "I" didn't find holding much value, getting rewarded.
Yeah I have heard that argument, "value is subjective". But, a good written thoughtful post is easily recognized by a reader like me.
I accept the premise that I am not a good writer. Since I was appreciated on one platform for my writing (Quora), maybe I developed an ego.
But, I am a good reader. That I am confident about.
"I sincerely wish that this platform turns out good for readers."
Also it was established by many here that commenting would also be a nice strategy to get recognized and rewarded.
My problem with that is, it becomes forceful. I think that comment should come from heart. I tried to find good content (which is difficult) and posting half-hearted comments. Didn't like that experience.
Now I see an introduction of "reputation scores". This brings hope.
As you suggested, I will put some more effort and try to add value with my contributions as a writer. Will try to experiment.
And as you suggested....will try, try and try more :)
I think that as the site becomes more popular to a more general population, the quality of the content will naturally tend to be the ones rewarded best. Still, you can't force people to like your work, you can only stay true to producing a consistent body of work that a dedicated following will eventually recognise and follow. Of course, with new site features, it should also improve.
