It's not amazing, I wouldn't recommend it first. Jurassic Park, The lost world, Congo- those ones are really good. And even as I say that, I mean, they are really good for Crichton. He wasn't not the best writer, but he had genius innovative sci-fi plots based on real ground breaking science with constant suspense. He even described the internet fairly accurately in Congo, and that book was published in 1980.

The Philippines :D Definitely warmer and sunnier haha! I've read JP, TLW and Congo before, so I could attest to that. I like The Andromeda Strain as well. I do get what you mean about Crichton though haha No matter his ability, he has a great track record when it comes to his work being adapted. That say something!
