Good morning bloggers, readers, adventurers. Some of you might already know, that i love outdoors - climb a tower, spend some time in deserted buildings at night or take a walk at a cold and deserted lake.
This time 'twas the latter. Due to spring, the weather is unsettled - one minute it's warm and sunny, the other moment it's cold with a wintery breeze. While heading out, we grab some warmer gear with @raili and head to, what we will call this time, Sinister Lake.
We park our car near the edge of the forest. There are multiple vehicle tracks leading inwards to the forest, towards the lake, but during our whole trip, we don't see a single soul.
The weather seemed to have anticipated our arrival. As we push forward, the weather turns sour, the sun disappears and a cold breeze chases our every step.
After jumping a few witches' ditches and passing dark clearing we reach the lake. The gloomy and dark forest seems doesn't make a single effort to be inviting. We ignore it.
Whatever once was here, it is gone now. Electric poles void of any wires tower above the small pines, an old car seat, overtaken by the sneaky nature, lies in it's solitude - no one will ever sit on that seat.
Even the pines, my favorite trees, look like something out of a horror movie. One could enjoy a walk between these pines on another day, but not today.
We spot something resembling a submarine from between the trees.
A submarine in a lake? Not unheard of, at least in ghost stories. We investigate further. On a closer looks it's just some old rusty floater.
We seem to have hit the culmination point. The darkness peaks for a moment and then it passes, like it was never there.
The hump of Snake Island can be seen through the pines that are protecting the lake from this side like loyal soldiers.
First rays of sun are peeking. One could actually enjoy this weather :)

Great piece of writing to go with your pictures of all the gloom. May I ask the location for I gathered Sinister lake was just your nickname for the place? (Snake island on google takes you to BRAZIL.)
The shot of @raili reminded me of a geography field trip where we engulfed our geography teacher in a pile of pebbles / rocks up to her knees. Near Swansea, Wales. Only temporarily, of course. We got a similar photo for our records.

I am also fond of Walking to such type of natural scenes but due to my duty hours after a long time I am unable to give time. @furious-one you and along with you @raili explore the nature very well. I feel as if your pictures describe the gloomy weather of Estonia perfectly! Only the two last pictures seem a bit happy, all of them look sullen and dull. :') Seems like a great photography session nonetheless!
Spring is really a beautiful season. Sometimes hot and sometimes cold as you enjoy the weather. The lake looks beautiful and your photography is really marvelous.
