Psy Ops Designed to Siphon Energy Away from Genuine Efforts

The above image was made with stable diffusion using the prompt 'crowd bullying a young person.'

The other day I published a new Substack Newsletter. Titled Forces Distorting Public Discourse, the piece combines stuff from this blog with original material. It focuses largely on Woke culture with an emphasis on how this culture serves the control regime. It also gets into how blackmail warps the powerful behind the scenes. The relationship between the Woke and blackmail is subtle but important. The Woke swarm makes blackmail threats more credible by publicly punishing anyone accused of a moral outrage.

The question the newsletter never gets around to asking is what to do about the Woke. Talking with them means talking with ideological zealots. It's like they're religious fundamentalists but their religion is secular humanism as depicted on Netflix originals. The problems they focus on do need solving. Unfortunately, their descriptions of these problems range from hopelessly distorted to flatly incorrect, and their proposed solutions to these problems are all pre-packaged by the control regime to serve regime objectives.

If I'm being honest, I feel similarly about Flat Earthers. Both movements are predicated on a rejection of true information in favor of canned mythologies. Neither movement admits wrong even in the face of obvious error. Secretly I suspect that both Woke and Flat Earth are products of psy ops designed to siphon energy away from genuine efforts to bring about meaningful systemic change.

Each group is mad in its own way. Yet neither is crazier than some of the other groups in the control regime. The Neocons are nuts. So are centrist Democrats. And members of the cult of Trump. Our corporate overlords are if anything crazier. They'd burn the world to the ground just to turn a profit on rebuilding from the ashes.

In the year to come, I hope to write about all of this madness without getting lost in it. There's a balance I'd like to find between pointing out villainy and dehumanizing those carrying the villainy out. It would also be nice to alienate fewer readers without compromising my message. So I've got my work cut out for me.

Lately I've been playing around with an idea for a novel about a world where everyone forgets themselves. The story would involve some scifi weapon or experiment gone awry, leaving everyone in the world suddenly without their autobiographical memories. They would find themselves in lives they didn't recognize, knowing everything they knew except their personal histories, attempting to live lives that they were partially locked out of, as all passwords and pins would have vanished from their memories.

If I wanted to go big, I could make the whole event the result of an extraterrestrial attack or incursion. Maybe there's a race of aliens that wants to transform the humans of Earth in some way and this is the first step. It might be interesting to do something along the lines of Earth: Final Conflict. Seemingly benevolent ETs with an indecipherable and possibly dreadful secret agenda.

The main thing I'd want to play with in this story is the great forgetting as a metaphor for control regime efforts to assign us identities that serve its agenda while erasing all other identities. At the same time, our memories are under attack in a biological sense by chemicals in our food and environments. And more and more of our cognitive resources are devoted to navigating artificial worlds rather than natural ones.

There's plenty to write about here. But there are other good stories out there waiting to be written too. Maybe I'll just start typing and let my unconscious decide what happens.

Read my novels:

See my NFTs:

  • Small Gods of Time Travel is a 41 piece Tezos NFT collection on Objkt that goes with my book by the same name.
  • History and the Machine is a 20 piece Tezos NFT collection on Objkt based on my series of oil paintings of interesting people from history.
  • Artifacts of Mind Control is a 15 piece Tezos NFT collection on Objkt based on declassified CIA documents from the MKULTRA program.

I love hearing about your sci fi writing process.

Could it be that by erasing people's memories, it also erases their understanding of the social-cultural norms that the control regime has controlled us with? And without groupthink and conformity, the control regime would have less power. Maybe the aliens want to empower the people to overthrow their own deep state government ;) If so, this could empower the people to rise up against oppressive forces.

Although it sounds like you're going for something a bit less positive :)

Hmm, I don't see why ETs wouldn't want to oust the control regime, so you might be onto something: )

The question the newsletter never gets around to asking is what to do about the Woke. Talking with them means talking with ideological zealots.

Ask them questions with some light debate mixed in and keep them talking until they start throwing absurd ad hominems your way and end it there. They might not get it at first but unless they're truly too far gone, they might. Or at least anyone else listening will see their weakness.

Makes sense. This is probably better than my usual strategy of first trying to find common ground and then clarifying our points of disagreement.

"It's like they're religious fundamentalists but their religion is secular humanism as depicted on Netflix originals."
This is why you are a writer! Amazingly well put.

Thanks! Just calling it like I see it.

Hmm
I hope to read about that novel where everyone forgets themselves very soon
Nice write up!

Thanks I'll post the first chapter here if I end up writing it.

They would do anything, no matter how crazy to control the general population of the masses. I think the flat earth theory was put forward by them for that purpose.

It sure looks that way.

That will really be a novel to read and try out. Waiting for you to post the first chapter
