A Mafiosa's Memoir: Joining The Mafia | Part #1

in #writing8 years ago

My names Ethan Fallita. It was your typical morning in July when I first had an encounter with my uncle Jimmy. We had been fairly close but he was always to busy to really hangout with for too long. That all changed when I turned 21 though, Jimmy started really taking an interest in me and I wasn't sure why.

It turns out Jimmy was a fairly high ranking member of the Italian mafia and he wanted to recruit me to join his mafia family. I quickly jumped at the oppurtunity being unemployed for the past few years had really started to put a stress on my personal life and I would do anything to be able to have some steady income. So it was settled, Jimmy was to start giving me odd jobs to work my way into his family and rise through the ranks of the Italian mafia.

It was a simpler time back in this day, the crack epidemic hadn't hit but I had been assigned the task of picking up drug money and running it to Don that controlled our family. It was an average day and I had made quite a few friends in the family, Josh was the guy I did most of my work with. He was about my age and we instantly hit it off. We connected on work and we both had a similar taste in fun activities. We spent most of our time at the strip club trying to figure out how we could make money and help the other members of our Mafia.

We came up with a great idea to compete with Uber in our city, This after all was a new day and age. Most people weren't even aware the mafia was still operating but we had most of the local drug and Bitcoin trade under our control. Since I had a background in computer knowledge they would send me out to do the local Bitcoin transactions that would typically net us up to 20%. There was some real money to be made here by the right individual. Me and Josh came up with the idea of launching an Uber type service that was safer and had a stronger screening process and also allowed us to accept Bitcoin, hence giving us the ability to launder quite a bit of money through our startup.

We presented our project to our leader and he granted us access to about 100 Bitcoins. We had about 60k to make our business idea work and we were ready to make it happen. But what happened next can only be described as coming straight out of a horror story. While Josh was moving funds around he some how manage to send $20k to an address that wasn't our own.

You won't believe who the account belonged to..

Stay tuned for part #2!
