What is success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose. The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again in a different way. The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people. The measure of success is not whether you have a tough problem to deal with, but whether it is the same problem you had last year. The ladder of success is best climbed by stepping on the rungs of opportunity. Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go. Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome. Success is simple. Do what's right, the right way, at the right time. Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom. Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. One secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.
Obedience is the mother of success and is wedded to safety. No man succeeds without a good woman behind him. Wife or mother, if it is both, he is twice blessed indeed. Most people give up just when they're about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game one foot from a winning touchdown. In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure. I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody. Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune. Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. Belief in oneself is one of the most important bricks in building any successful venture. Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other. Action is the foundational key to all success. A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.
