Today, I went to an office supply store. While loading up my cart with the items I needed, I realized I needed to use the restroom. I parked my cart near the facilities, then waited in the alcove near the entrance to the women's restroom. I could hear water running from outside, and strangely, voices, so I just hung out there awaiting my turn. An employee offered to use his keycode on the lock, but I told him that I could hear it was occupied. After I had waited a few minutes, the store's transgender employee suddenly exited alone. She has a sparkly pink barrette holding back her thinning blonde hair. She realized I was waiting after the door had already closed. She kindly stopped and punched the keycode in for me, avoiding eye contact. She is shy. I entered the restroom and found that, while empty, (who was she talking to?), the toilet seat was up. Ladies, please! The women's restroom is the last bastion of the toilet seat remaining in the "down" position.
