I don't find copy and pasting responses asking to be followed as flattering.
Rather, I find it ingenuine & disrespectful, as it comes across as you're just wanting followers rather than demonstrating that you've actually read what I've written and care to exert a little effort to customize your response, rather than copy and paste a generic request to be followed.
and any way you put it, copy and pasting such generic responses = spam.

Nothing personal - just need to set a positive example so newbies overlooking learn what is appropriate conduct here and what isn’t.
