The Oracle

Saturn was a planet on which the gods resided. Priests were assigned to watch over the lives of the people and guide them on the right path. There was a prophecy that the planet would be destroyed by a heat-ray by the gods. But the priests, with the help of a young initiate, devised a plan to save their planet and harness the power of the sun.

What they did was to create an enormous telescope that beamed photon beams over the planet. When the beam hit the planet, it would reflect back and break into dark matter particles that circulated in the atmosphere. This would generate a heat-ray that washed over the planet destroying it. The planet's crust would be blown away exposing the molten core and making it dark and cold. The priests believed that after the rays from the sun destroyed the planet, the core would cool off, dark matter particles would gather at a point, and a new creation would be formed. They believed that the gods would recreate the planet and life would start all over again.

The creation of the telescope was supposed to be a secret as per the priests' plan. But, to everyone's surprise, the creation of the telescope was projected in the sky by the gods for all the people to see. Many of the people were afraid and questioned why the gods had betrayed them. The priests responded by explaining why they had to destroy their planet and to ensure that the new creation would be better than the last. They also explained that they would serve the gods.

The people were not entirely convinced but had no other choice but to accept the priests' proposal. When the priests were certain that the people believed them, they began destroying the planet.

Disbelievers:

It was announced that the ''rays of the gods'' would start destroying the planet on the following day. On that day, the sky was filled with a glow as it shone with the rays from the gods. People started panicking as they tried to find shelter. Those who could not find a place to hide were left with no choice but to stand on the streets.

Things quickly went worse when the first rays hit the planet, completely destroying its crust and leaving the core exposed in the sky. People with no place to hide soon disappeared. On a hill, close enough to the light to be seen, an old man stood on the edge of a tar-pit. Even though he was scared, he observed as the crust of the planet was blasted off. He could see that the flames were getting smaller as they came closer to him. The old man had a lot of faith in the priests and he prayed that he would not be burned alive when the flames pass him by.

Later, the fiery flames began to slow down as they got close to the old man. The crust was completely destroyed and it was the time for a new creation.

People:

The people, shaken by the sight of their planet being destroyed, began looking up in the sky to cry out to their gods. Some cried out that they had been betrayed while others cried out that they had been misled.

Another ray hit the planet and it was followed by another and another. Everyone began to collapse as the rays opened a new door in the sky, this one leading to another planet. The stars in the old sky began to blink out. Cries of disbelief, fear and confusion echoed in the streets. People began crying softly when they saw their new home.

The planet was a frozen world and there was no daylight. The only light came from the stars in the sky. The planet was barren of life and lifeless but it came with one special feature: Time. The planet rotated around the galaxy in which our pentagram had a star. As it revolved, the planet would receive the light from the pentagram's star. This light was not a ray from the gods, it was a ray from the past. When the light shone on the planet, it lit up the surroundings and a dawn would appear. This new dawn would last for 3 days until the planet had its next encounter with the past; a new dawn would appear.

Residents:

In a new world like this, the people needed a new approach to life. Instead of going across to other cities, they circled the planet. It was only at the closest point to the stars that they could see the passing of time. For every 3 days, a year would pass by.

Before long, the people on the frozen planet began to group by themselves and settled. The priests settled at the highest point of the ice-covered planet. They named the land ''Saturn'' out of fear that the gods would destroy it again. The people who did not believe in the priests came to dwell in the lands surrounding Saturn. The large circular land mass was named ''The Ring'' as it was the only land where the sun could be seen. The people round the ring began to raise families and work as they had done on Earth, except that they didn't know how many days had passed and how many years their children had already lived.

The Old Earth:

The gods did indeed rebuild their planet. All the people who had died on Earth were reincarnated on the new planet. People who believed in the priests and the prophecy about the destruction of the planet were reincarnated close to Saturn. People who had doubted the gods were reborn closer to the Ring. The priests claimed that they were chosen by the gods to reincarnate and they were reincarnated the closest to where they had lived on Earth.

The gods monitored the planet from the bottom of the ice-covered sea in the world of Saturn. They spoke to the people through visions made by their priests. They also communicated to the residents of Saturn as they used the volcanic fumes from the fire to form words.

The last words of the gods spoke about the creation of a new planet that revolved around their pentagram star; the pentagram was to be the means of their contact with their people. On Earth, the people were to set up the structure that enabled the priests to communicate with the gods.
