Dear Diary
I have never written this before, ever. It is difficult to look back on my life and see what has led me here, to where I am now. I am writing so that I don't forget anything.
I was born with a normal human body and it wasn't long before I realized my different abilities. I was able to see into the future, so the first thing I tried to do was watch myself grow up, hoping to find clues on how I came to be. Of course, that was a futile project, which is why I put this in my journal when I found it.
What I found left me in complete shock. I am not human, my father was a sorcerer who used magic to create me. In the future I see, I am fifteen years old and my father is dead. He is surrounded by people that hate him, who scream obscenities at him and hold anything and everything he has issued over years of government control over their heads.
My father and I have always been the opposite of anyone else. His death should have been the end of me. Instead, I have decided to take on my mother's surname that I so long to call my own. It is great fortune to be able to take on someone else's name and call it my own.
My mother is the first person I speak to every night and every morning. Since I was a child, she has been my eyes, my ears, and my voice of reason. She has taken care of me since the day she first saw me, when I was a tiny infant.
Through that time, we have both had many talks about the awful future my father foresaw for our people. His prophecy was never good. He was recorded each time he talked about the things we found out in our later years, and it was never good. We have always talked about our fears and we have thoroughly prepared for the worst.
My father would have told me that one day I would grow up. I would either become a great magician that would save our people or...
... or I would become a horrible dictator. That is what his prophecy is all about. He steeled our people to fight you, the man named Brian.
I can't explain the sadness I feel over my father's death. Of course, it is not his death that makes me sad. With him... I will be given life. My mother, who has always been there for me, will always be there for me, and to my blessing, I will see him again.
The only thing that has kept me going has been knowing that my father's death will set me free to live a life I deserve.
How I was given the gift of foresight is hard to question. It has given me my purpose in this world, the reason that I am here. The more I watch, the more I understand. When I watch, I see the same things I have always seen, the future. The only difference is that I can also see it coming.
Those things, they are coming so quickly now.
Dear Diary,
Today I got the strangest gift from my mother. I have wanted one since I was a child. They have always been out of reach and my mother never had the heart to tell me no.
I got my very own pet black dragon and she won't be the last. Because I can see, I can plan ahead and my next one isn't going to want to be alone. I'm going to have a whole army of dragons and they will be loyal to me.
Here's another secret that I have kept from my people: I have been studying our two races and I am going to unite them. They have a great potential and soon will see it or die. Oh, will they die.
My name is Rachel Smith and soon after the death of the one called Brian, I will be calling my planet home. I am a woman of my word and by the time my people are ready, they will be a part of my family.
