Search in the darkness

I drive my big black pick up truck to the abandoned warehouse. I hope to find my girlfriend there. She said she was coming here, but she never arrived. The warehouse is located near an abandoned farm, miles away from civilization. Nobody has been there for years. It is surrounded by a forest, which makes it even stranger.

As I arrive there I see her car. It is an old blue car. I check the driver’s seat, but she is not there. I knock on the window. I hope to find her, but there is nobody. The front door of the warehouse opens. I walk in. There is nobody here. I am alone. Then I hear a car in the distance. I hope it is her. As the car comes near the warehouse, the car stops. I hear the car doors open and close. Then I hear more footsteps, like more than one. As they get closer I hear their whispers. I don’t understand what they are saying to each other.

I hear footsteps behind me. As I turn around, something hits me on the head. I fall to the ground unconscious. I wake up in the pitch blackness. I am tied up, but I can’t see a thing. I can see nothing. I cry for help, but nobody can hear me. I am lying on the cold ground. I don’t know where I am or what the people want. I am scared. I don’t know what will happen to me.

I must have dozed off, because I am woken up by the faint noise of a car engine. Then I hear the footsteps again. They sound as though there are more of them as they echo through the building. I hear women and men, plus another voice. I don’t know what the voice is. It is neither male nor female. It sounds almost mechanical, like a robot. It is distorted. I hear a door open. They must have opened the door where I am. It is pitch black, so I can’t see a thing.

Then I hear the footsteps. I hear a man’s voice. His voice is louder than the other voices. He talks to the rest of them. He says, “looks like someone has been here.” He is speaking to them. I don’t understand what he says. Then I hear another voice which says, “most likely a human.” Then the footsteps stop. Now I am alone.

I hear footsteps in the distance. They are even louder than the footsteps I heard earlier. I hope it is my girlfriend. As the footsteps get closer, I hear the door creak open. I hear the footsteps come close to me. There is nobody there. Then I hear the footsteps leave. They are getting farther and farther away. It sounds like a crowd of people. The footsteps continue for a few minutes. Then I hear a loud noise. It is not just one noise. It is many noises at once.

After the noises stop, it is quiet. I try to scream for help, but I am trapped. I cannot move my arms or my legs. I then hear footsteps, but this time they are coming closer. I hear them stop. Then I hear them get closer. I hear the door open. I hear somebody walking towards me. I wish my girlfriend was here. I hear somebody untying me. I hear footsteps approach me. I hear the footsteps stop. Then I hear the total darkness.

When I wake up, I am still tied up in a chair. I see I am still in the warehouse. My head is hurting. So am my mouth and nose. I smell burning. As I am trying to move I hear footsteps. I am scared. The footsteps stop and somebody unties me. I see that it is my girlfriend. She has found me. I tell her I am okay. I tell her everything happened and why I am tied up. She promises to take me home, but she says her car is damaged.

I am still tied to the chair as we leave the warehouse. While we are leaving, there is a loud noise, like a bomb. The whole warehouse blows up. I am thrown into the air, and thrown against the wall. I am knocked unconscious. I wake up in a hospital bed. I don’t know where I am. Someone has come up to the bed and untied me. My girlfriend is there. She has found me. She informs me what happened, and what she and I discussed on the way to the hospital.

She says that when she and I were at the warehouse a weird looking guy came up to us and said that I was trespassing and that we should leave that place quickly. When we left the warehouse, we heard someone screaming, but we couldn’t tell who it was because it was late, and the forest made it hard to see. I think the screaming supposed to be me, but I don’t remember.

Also when we were in the warehouse, my girlfriend said she heard a woman’s voice, and she said they sounded like they were discussing something. It was really weird, because my girlfriend told me she doesn’t even know how she heard the voice at first, because she didn’t see anybody, but then she thought she heard something. Also she told me that when the guy man said, “looks like someone has been here,” I laughed really funny. I just remembered, so I try to laugh again and nobody laughs with me, even though I laugh really funny, so I stop.
