Most writers struggle with writing

So, you're not alone.

When I first started writing, in June 2017, I was full of ideas and I wanted to create a bunch of content. I still do. I publish around twice a day on Steemit and around once a week on Medium and LinkedIn. However, I have less ideas than before.

And I think that's completely normal. You see, writers are often seen as people who are capable of just putting words on paper without a lot of effort, who simply have to think of a topic and articles about it will simply come into their head. Then all they need to do is type everything on a computer.

But that's not how it works. If you've been writing for a few months or even weeks, then you know that at some point in your writing routine, you'll stop having ideas. You'll feel like you approach the same topics again and again and that people will eventually get bored of you.

Don't worry too much about it - it happens to everyone.

No matter how many articles you read, no matter how much content you consume and no matter how much time you spend in front of a blank page or word document, nothing will help you accelerate the idea finding process.

So, what should you do about it?

Well, pretty much nothing. Reading all kind of things helps in some situations, watching videos and movies helps too. Reading articles about what to do when you're out of ideas definitely doesn't help. Eating does in some cases and same with playing video games.

Seriously now, there's not a lot you can do about it. It happens to me, to other people, and it will probably happen to you in the future as well. You don't have to worry about it. It will go away. One day you'll be smashing your keyboard with your head hoping that the impact will generate a decent idea, and the next day you'll write 5 articles in just a few hours like nothing happened the day before.

Most writers struggle with writing at least once, and you're no exception. Just do what you did until now, and keep writing. Sometimes you won't be able to come up with anything great, and you'll have to publish something mediocre - don't worry about it and just publish.

I'll probably come back to this advice in the future and consider it bad, but for now, from what I saw and experienced, the best way to get good at writing, is to write. With or without ideas.
