Fact: What you want is not necessarily what you need.

You want her but you don't need her
You want him but you don't need him

You don't need those shoes
You don't need a dog
You don't need a new watch
You don't need validation
You don't need fame
You don't need a new car
You don't need a new phone

Everything you have ever wanted and needed resides within. All the external that you've attracted are merely bonuses of the external things vibrating on the same energy frequency as yours.

We must let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us. This is not to say that we shouldn't strive for success or to fulfill something exceptional. It's only saying that our state of mind shouldn't depend on whether we live in surplus or deficit. Both ways, we remain joyful and grateful while we grind our butts off. Also, please note that when we are coming from a position of "want" we scream to the universe that we are "lacking" something which inevitably, we attract more of (and you postpone your blessings). In life you don't get what you want, you get who you are.

Philippians 4:11-13
"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

And sometimes (in fact all the time) NOT getting what you want is a blessing in disguise, as you're making room for the things that you need to enter your life.
