And i am very glad that i can wish MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you today!!!
You might be surprised but here in Russia we don't celebrate Christmas on december 25!
We have our Xmas on january 7, and it's only religious celebration.
It happens this way because some ortodox and catolics as well use the Julian calendar to celebrate this date... And based on this calendar, Christ was born on january 7.
The Armenian Apostolic Church thinks it happend on january 6.
So there are currently 3 dates of Christmas in the world!

Also since religion was mainly forbidden during the soviet period, russian people removed the Xmas's way of celebrating to the New year. So, we have the decorated fir-trees and the gifts as a part of the New Year festivity!
The pictures i've used to illustrate my story have been made by me during a walk in the center of Stavropol.
In this year we do not just have one big New Year tree but the whole magical forest of them!

Merry Christmas from Canada. Some of us also celebrate his birthday in October on Canadian Thanksgiving .... His incarnation / conception taking place 9 months earlier on the 24th Kislev (December)
