I havn't followed this story super closely but I see a lot of gun channels as well as right wing politics channels are starting to upload to porntube. Kind of odd since were used to seeing porn there but apparently after being censored by Youtube they are moving over there. All we need is everyone who's shunned by Youtube to move over here instead of pornhub or wherever else. It would make sense as well, if a gun channel were to move over to pornhub some people are going to be turned off by the other content on the platform, some people aren't gonna want that in their browser history, its a site you wouldn't visit at work etc where as Steemit and Dtube are safe alternatives.
We slowly need to begin reaching out to everyone being shunned by Youtube and bring them on over here.
In general I think most Youtubers or people with big social followings are going to come over here and take a lot more than they give but hopefully some give back as wel whether it be rewarding their audience or even just spreading awareness of the platform.
That is crazy about the gun people uploading to porntube. I wouldn't have expected that.
They certainly could find a home here for sure. I know a lot of the homesteaders really found a spot here. I think you are right about big YouTubers taking more than they give on here. I can see how they would feel that they were doing us a favor by coming over in some ways. Not that they would be mean about it but basically they would feel like a really big fish in a small pond type of a thing. A guy like @furiouspete123 is pretty dang big. I mean when he is drinking Steve-O's piss and hanging out with Roman Atwood people probably know about you. LOL
I think he could really gain some respect if he collaborated with some popular Steemians like @papa-pepper Or end up going to Steemfest Next November or whenever.
Yeah I ain't a gun person but do not understand why they are being banned at YT. Just doesn't make sense.
As far as this @furiouspete123 . I mean if he helps our Platfrom I say great. We need more. But just to be honest he is not anyone that really captivates me. Just do not find him interesting.
But I'm not selfish enough to say he is not welcome here and then try to discount him as a fellow Steemian.
Then again if does not take the time to Upvote his audience ( at least a little bit) then well I probably won't follow him.
I get what you are saying. Even though he seems like a cool guys and is into lifting and stuff I never got real into following what he was doing or what he was saying on YouTube or anything. Not saying anything bad about him I just wasn't compelled to really keep up on his stuff. probably because if I saw him eating I would try to do the same and end up BLOATED To the Core!!! Hahhaha
Youtubers who come over here are obviously under no obgliation to endlessly push Steemit on their Youtube audience but I do think if they are going to come over here and make good money and be rewarded by us I do think it would be nice to give something back whether it be upvotes or at the very least promoting the platform.
@furiouspete still seems to be earning pretty well per post. @hodgetwins accounts is kinda wierd, when they upload youtube videos of theirs they'll make $20 $30 $40 per post, however when they post memes or low effort stuff they'll only get like $2 which is fair, Im just surprised they aren't earning more as people will often jump on the upvote train hoping they'll upvote them back.
In all due respect to those @hodgetwins, I just do not really get it. I do wish them well here ,though. I really do. I just tried watching their stuff and it's kind of all over the place. And not polished or anything. But maybe that is part of the humor and their allure and makes them stand out.
Yeah I think there audience is kind of late teens and early 20's guys. Kind of a mix of relationship advice with a funny spin on it. I agree not really my cup of tea but they definitely have a pretty good following among their audience.
Yeah like you said I'm not sure if they don't fully get the platform and realize that interaction and participation is kind of expected on here, or if they know what Steemit is about and this is just kind of second tier dumping ground for them. I know a while back I was giving vidme a try and for a brief amount of time I was trying to be part of the community, I realized the site wans't really going anywhere so from then on out it was just like a content dump for me dumping 10 or 20 youtube vids on the platform at a time. I'm glad I didn't invest too mcuh time as the site is going under and is going to be closing up any day now. That said Steemit is a much better platform, has a better business model and IMHO a better future than vidme.

It would be so expensive to host video content. A couple of years ago I'm glad I didn't invest more time in Vine as well. There were only a small handful of creators who sort of made it out of that and found success on other platforms.
