Released on 23rd October, Zappl is a Micro-blogging interface on Steem Blockchain. It's similar to Twitter. While Twitter allows for 140 Characters, Zappl allows for 240 Characters.
Whatever you post through Zappl is sent to steem blockchain and thus is visible on the chain. (Steemit blog). But what you post through Steemit is not Visible on Zappl because Zappl filters steemit posts.
Why Zappl?
Zappl is a great platform for people who want to give out short updates. How many of the users actually do go through the entire 1000 Characters post... Not all. The ones with $100+ earning posts are all through auto Votes with the help of either Streemian of Steemvoter. They aren't actually reading the post.
Zappl is a great platform for Vloggers and Photographers. The basic idea is because Vloggers really don't make that huge posts. They say through their videos. This platform makes it quick and easy for them. Similar for photographers.
How to Start with Zappl.
If you are not on steemit join steemit. Because it's not possible for you to access Zappl without Steemit. Create Steemit instantly through Annon Steem with certain fees or wait for few days to get your account through regular steemit signup. (I believe signing up will be easier in the future)
Here's what you do next:
- Go to Https://zappl.com And you'll have a cute looking login page. The URL will look like (https://zappl.com/#!/ ) This is normal and the "#!" characters will be removed soon.
It will ask you for Your steemit user name and Steemit's Private posting key, "Private posting key".
You can find your keys in Wallet > Permission. The fist keys that you see are "Public keys". The private posting keys are hidden from public. So you'll need to click on "Show Private key" in order to access them. (We are looking for Private posting key).
Once you click show keys, you'll see your private keys. Copy that and paste it in zappl's login page. Don't forget to hide the keys once you copy it. Just click hide keys and done.
Now login to Zappl

The interface of the platform is easy as it can be. Interactions like twitter and beautiful looking GUI.

Create your First ZAP.
Creating your zap is easy. To do so, Go to "Create ZAP" .png)
Now you'll have this sweet looking posting page. .png)
Title bar, Body, Vote post, 50-50 and save draft. These are the basic. We know what it is for. (50-50 is for choosing your payouts in 50 % SBD and 50% Steem). You can also save your Draft for later posting.
What are these icons. .png)
The Picture looking icon is for adding images to your Zap. You can simply click on it and upload the picture you want. You can also add Videos and GIFS in similar manner.
The Icon besides the image icon is for adding your YouTube Links. Just click on it and add your YouTube links.
How to add tags to your posts:
You may be familiar with Twitters tags. Here in Zappl too you add tags similarly. Say you want to add a tag as Photography. So you need to add "#" hashtag before photography.

How to change your vote slider:
By default the vote slider is set to 50%. But you can change that by clicking on .png)
Then go to .png)
Than change your vote slider. And every other votes you make through zappl will be the % that you set.

You can't make transfers because you need Activity keys to make transfers.

You can search a zap with tags like photography etc...
FAQ's
1) Why can't I see users on my feeds?
This is because you need to follow users from Zappl and they also need to be the users of Zappl. If they are not on zappl or not posting through Zappl, you won't be able to see their feeds. So make sure you follow them.
2) Why am i Unable to post:
Sometimes due to Nodes of steemit, it gets harder to post. Also sometimes posting does not go through or you may encounter a prompt saying "Posting once in 5 min". If you encounter this, try using Firefox Browser. Because this is more frequent on Chrome. If it still does not work, Clear the browsers cache and login again.
3) I can't see some comments on zappl, but i see them on Steemit.
This is largely because zappl filters steemit comments and Steemit comments. If the comment was through steemit, you'll not see that comment or post. But if it was through zappl, you'll see it.
