After my partner got to know that I was participating in Beer Saturday, he started bringing more beer than before 😅 So, I'm joining #BeerSaturday 359 hosted by @detlev.
The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 359
The beer I'm introducing this time is from Zwickau, a city where my partner used to run a gallery with his friends until the beginning of this year. Zwickau is famous for the Trabant, a car produced in East Germany. It's a bit hard to access to the city since the high-speed trains don't stop there, but it's a beautiful city.
The Trabant is often mentioned in the context of how state-planned production could not compete with free-market production. However, it still has dedicated fans. It's a cute car, and whenever I see one on street, I think it's adorable.
Now, about the beer itself. It was ordinary. I was a bit disappointed that it was milder than the typical bitter beers I like. The foam disappeared while I was preparing dinner.
And yes, it's from Trabant city, Zwickau!
It's from a discount supermarket and has a design probably aimed at younger people, so I shouldn't have had high expectations. But I did enjoy the illustration of the Trabant. I love the charming look of old cars.

The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 359
今回紹介するビールは、相方が今年の年初まで友人たちとギャラリーを運営していた Zwickau という街のビールです。東ドイツ時代に生産されていたTrabantという当時の国産車で有名です。高速列車が停まらないのでややアクセスしにくいのですが、きれいな街です。
Trabantは、国が計画生産したものがいかに自由市場で生産されたものに負けるか・・・という文脈で取り上げられることもありますが、熱心なファンがいるのも事実。見た目はかわいいんですよ。ごくたまに見かけると「かわいいなあ」と思います。
さてさて、肝心のビールのお味はと言うと・・・普通。いわゆる苦味のあるおっさんビールよりマイルドなのが実はちょっと不満でした。夕食の準備をしながらもたもたしていたら泡が消えてしまいました。
Trabantの街、Zwickauからですね！
安売りスーパー＆若者向けのデザイン（？）なので、期待しすぎてはいけませんね。でも、Trabantのイラストは堪能させてもらったのでよしとしましょう。愛嬌のある昔の車の表情が好きです。
