Splinterlands: Midseason Report

in Splinterlands23 days ago

My splinterlands season has not been going as planned. I think I have lost more games this season than the previous one. We now have more max level summoners, and I believe there has been a migration from Modern to Wild. 4/10, I am constantly encountering max level summoners while playing in Diamond 2. I have played Diamond 2 for the entire season and have only had a few brief appearances in Diamond 1.

Nonetheless, it has been a good season. I believe I need to start raising the levels of my cards; my soulbound summoners are mostly at level 5 and 6, and I still have two levels to max them out, which would require about 200 cards or more each. It has not gone as planned, and I believe playing in the Wild is becoming increasingly difficult.

For instance, I played nine games this morning, winning only two and losing seven, almost all of which involved higher level summoners. Naturally, farming glint is simpler in Wild, so I assume this is a bigger incentive to play at all.

Guild Outing

My Guild outing has been decent so far, this last one I played five games and won four of them, losing only one. Getting 1k merit and 12 SPS as a result. Guild play is a great method to increase SPS and merit, but in my opinion—and this is just my personal opinion—the quality of Gladius cards has declined in their cases ever since Glint was introduced.

There are no high-quality cards, only commons and rares at best. So I received one Gladius case from my rewards and found nothing when I opened it.

Shopping Early In The Season

So, I went shopping. As previously stated, I have been losing a lot of games, so in frustration, I decided to sell some gold cards and go shopping to get more cards to raise the level of my cards and summoners; however, I am still stuck at levels 5 and 6, with my cards at levels 7 and 8.

I spent about 20k glint in the market, purchasing some common and rare cards, as well as various draws and random ones, to see if I could get anything spectacular, but nothing came up.

However, I made sure not to spend all of my season's Glints because they will be useful at the end of the season. I will sell the majority of my gold epics in order to purchase one of the legendary draws; I have a lot of legendary that need to be upgraded, and I still need a lot of them. My highest level legendaries are Ava The Undaunted (level 3), IZIAR (level 3), and SORRIEL THE BALE (level 4). Most of my other Legendaries are at level 2 or level 1, and I need to work on that.

More SPS.

It is also the middle of the season, and I have been picking up SPS. I picked up a few SPS and have been staking them. I have just hit 10k, and I am trying to buy more SPS now that they are cheap, despite the fact that I have no extra cash left. I am just scrapping any little funds I have left to do some SPS shopping. I still earn an average of 0.8 SPS per win, and I need a lot of SPS to earn more, which I do not currently have.

See you at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Splinterlands is celebrating its sixth birthday.

I can imagine the kind of frustration that made you sell some of your cards😅
Don’t give up. You can always do better

I didn't sell for dollar, I burned them, they're non tradable, but burnable

For instance, I played nine games this morning, winning only two and losing seven

Oh no 😄😄, but Joe, does it mean you lost some money we with that? Or just cards...?

Buying more sps now is really nice...I saw the dip.. hopefully it will rise again

I don't lose anything, but I lose the potential rewards I could have earned and that's it. It's a tricky game and so many people are buying a lot of assets to actually compete to win

Wow bro either ways I think you're a champion, you've elevated yourself to that level and although you may not see success all the time I think in the long run you'll win.... Congratulations and wishing you more success man....

I'm not a champion, just a small time player with small cards in the game, but yes, the experience is good..

You may be right my good friend, but I believe you've got the star power to become successful, I've seen your level of determination in your blogs... Big ups to you man

It sucks to lose so many fights and I haven't had as much time this season. So it's been rough for me to get time for Splinterlands and even with a bad win rate, I still think you earn so long as you get your battles in. That is how energy works so long as you don't let it overfill.
