Refusing to believe

in #beauty2 months ago

It is mind boggling really. I have been put on an automatic list of downvotes to oblivion. The reasons for which are as of today, unknown to me, but nevertheless.

It is what it is.

I have never posted just for the sake of posting or for the sake of 'farming the curators fee'. And it is really hurtful to see that people somehow - well not people, because the powers that decide this motion, the whales on this platform, do not deserve to be classified as ordinary people, as that would put them in the same category as the rest of us - the INCELS dare I say, have a maaaaaaaajor beef against my posting, so I am now downvoted to oblivion.

It is what it is.
I dont care any more honestly. And I kinda feel bad for the INCELS that have a major say in this platform. Kudos to you boys - you get to wield that imaginary big d__k of yours in every virtual space that this beautiful platform can provide in order to compensate for the lack of big d**k wielding in real life.

It is what it is.
Drastic times call for drastic measures. If one calling out was all it took for my posting priviliges to be blown to slytherines, what is next? I dont even wanna think of it.

So, for the first time in 3 years + that I have been on the platform.. I am starting to ponder my being on this platform.

As much as I love the concept, the people (not INCELS obviously), the energy - the previous week or so has been a major food for thought.

Time to think wisely about the next moves!

But at the end of the day, remember - it is what it is.

INCELS are way too strong on Ecency - and there is not a whole lot we can do about it :)

Thanks to some tools which had been made for the Hive ecosystem, some things happen here on an automatic basis. Many of these things are good (such as automatic upvotes if we're part of someone's curation trail). Some of these things are bad (automatic DVs).

I mention this because there are people who don't post long form content for months and who don't comment on posts for even longer, yet they are considered "last active 30 minutes ago". There could be people who only curate; many people like that exist here. Just as likely is someone who has his account on auto-pilot and may not even be aware of the activities being done in the name of that account on auto-pilot.

If what's happening to you is being done by a Hiver whose account is on auto-pilot, responding to this person may be a waste of time. When would that person even be back to check notifications?

But if what's happening to you is by someone who is truly active without posting content of any kind-- which is possible-- then at the very least you deserve to know what you did to end up on such a list. If it was done in error, that can be rectified; that happens, too. If it was done on purpose, ask for proof.

If you've done all the investigating you could and determined the worse case scenario-- a non-posting manual curator-- is true, that would be a true shame, indeed.

You could make known this person's account name so that people can be on the lookout for him (very likely a "him"). You could put this person on your own automatic DV list. Although your DV will have no impact, it may drive him crazy that instead of having 10K upvotes on posts/comments he keeps getting 9,999 upvotes and that pesky 1 DV. Of course, this is to be done only when you know for a fact it is that specific person.

We have better things to do with our time on Hive, and we should be focusing not only on those things which bring us rewards ($HIVE, $HBD, $BTC, etc.) but also those things which add beauty and joy into our lives. But if someone who has that kind of time wants to step up and act as your champion behind the scenes, why stop that person from doing you the favor?

I may be Roman Catholic, and you may be Serbian Orthodox, but I believe that karma is real, and karma has been known to take place quickly in some cases. Karma, cosmic justice, whatever we want to call it. One way or another, karma will come after this person. How it happens, we just have to wait and see.

I am just leaving this here:

:)

Keep posting. Ignore the downvotes.

Hive is about the overall community.
Its just a couple of whales.

thank you for the words of encouragement! means a lot.

I am seeing in your situation parallels of the persecution of another attractive influencer who had joined Hive a few years ago.

It is disturbing and borders on misogynistic.

While I don't support rewards merely for pretty selfies, there has to be real content, equally women should not be punished for being attractive.

I have 4 gorgeous daughters and would not want them to be punished for their good looks.

what was the outcome of the persecution of the attractive influencer? Is she still around?

Unfortunately not. She reacted in a way that prevented people helping her.
You just need to stay strong and keep posting.
The downvotes will pass.

thanks for the advice:)

I got some downvotes sometime ago and it was really crazy. Just ignore and I wish you well

Well sorry for the bad experience. Maybe, we just need to listen to opinions and suggestions; follow guiding rules for the overall interest of the community

yeah, follow the guiding rules for the overall interest of the community UNTIL you are big enough to just simply not care.

Well, if it's enough consolation to still see those upvotes, even if they no longer have any financial value, I'll keep sacrificing a bit of my voting power to the downvote gods so that you can see you're still getting some 'likes'!
