This is the first posting in a while on the #ladiesofhive community, keep up the good work ladies !
Now I am sure many of you heard that diamonds are a girls best friend nonsense, I call it nonsense because diamonds are a big scam, for the most part diamonds are only artificially rare, diamonds actually aren't very rare. precious gemstones like emeralds, rubies, and tanzanite and even pure gold in its natural form is more rare than diamonds.
Diamonds are often used in engagement and wedding rings, however I think something like plain gold is way better since the value can increase overtime just like the love in the relationship hopefully.
But what about the bling? Well that's were your new best friend comes in... moissanite!
If you are unfamiliar moissanite is type of gemstone originally discovered in meteorite debris, in 1998 Charles & Colvard started grow moissanite in a lab as a diamond alternative.
Now this ain't no cubic zirconia check out the infographic below.

As you can see moissanite is almost as hard as a diamond and it actually has better brilliance and fire dispersion properties than diamonds.
Fire dispersion is related to the rainbow effect we can see below and has nothing to do with temperature however moissanite is more heat resistant than diamonds with diamonds melting at 800 C and moissanite keeps it together up to 1800 C.
That fire(fire dispersion)! and look how much farther the light is being reflected(brilliance)

And so ladies and gents you can shine hard with moissanite for a fraction of the cost of diamonds and also in lots of way moissanite is a better alternative without even getting into the ethical concerns with diamond mining and the industries historic manipulation.
I am trying to get into making jewelry and so I bought a bunch of these little gems for future projects, I actually got some more moissanite gems since but more on that in a future post.

Wow good information! Hahha shit i was deceived when i bought the 10 yrs anniversary ring! Added a diamond that was more expensive that any other gem damn! Now i learned about his other gem, interesting first time reading about it!
gold is the way but for extra bling moissanite is a cheaper and better option

me to lol I am not in a rush to mess with these little ones, I also got some bigger stones that I will share soon and one that I added to a blank ring
Moissanite is one of the better stones out there, and definitely more brilliant than diamond. Diamonds also have the problem now of Russian lab grown diamonds flooding the market and even the best experts have trouble telling the difference. They controlled the supply very carefully for years but I agree, gold is better. Much harder to grow in a lab!
