But the garden experienced a sudden heart attack

It's almost around two months since I wrote my last garden journal post. The all seasoned inca plants were growing so beautifully that I was very excited with the progress this year. The flowers are smaller in size, but they stay for a very long time, unlike the seasonal inca. I had plans to work in the entire garden, but then as I wrote in my last post, that was halted due to the recent road expansion. Even though the road needed a little, they were trying to take away the entire area. So we stopped planning for anything, as it would be a waste of time and energy. And now the good news is that, they have taken only that much which is needed for the road.

The boundary wall was demolished from one side, taking few feet of space from the area that we had inside, because they are building a drain. But good that, only half of the wall is gone.

If you compare this one with one above, then this is the drain that is being built.

And this is the frontage, since we have two gates, they will have to first complete one side and then work on the other side. Otherwise, we will not be able to get out of our society. The downside of this future road is that, as soon as we get out, we land on the road and that is not safe for young kids who are going by cycle. My son also has started going to all his coaching class using cycle, so they need to be very careful. At one point, we were having fear, as this road has already taken three lives, because of rash driving. But then, we just can't let them live their life in fear, they have to get out and face it and live. There are certain things for which you have to rely on the almighty.

They did a good job of fixing a temporary wall like the above, the view is from inside. At least it provides some sort of security. Once they complete their work, we will build the boundary again, so until then we have stopped doing anything in the garden. And since its harsh summer (temperature soaring to as high as 45°C - yes we were the third hottest place in the world on a day), it will be difficult to even maintain them. However, my plants have got a nice place, and needs watering only once a day.

So I decided to plant more as pots were empty and worked on the week-end to make this beautiful. However, not everything works as you plan. Soon I noticed my flowers were being taken away by few ladies (from the society) plucking flowers. They come at 4 am in the morning, when the darkness is still there. Instead of the place being full of flowers, it got deserted. And just 2-3 weeks after that, the plants started dying.

I have no idea of what happened to them but felt like they got a heart attack as these ladies mercilessly tortured them. In a hurry to take the flowers, they won't mind pulling the stem so hard. We have a belief at my place which says some hands do not go well with plants, and they die, if such people touch them. So may be something like that happened, but I tried to save them by talking to a garden expert and applying some medicines. However, it appeared, their life was already on ventilator.

As the kids have summer holiday, I planned to come alone to my native and stay with my parents for a long time. So before coming, I planted some hopes and handed over to the boy to take care.

When everything ends, the hope still remains and it's our duty to keep a positive spirit and teach the same to the kids. And this time when I am going back, the first thing that I am going to do is to fit a CCTV from my own budget. That's the only way I can fight with these ladies, by showing them evidence.

By the way, its delicious Mango season, more to come on that...

Those ladies can be a handful, especially when they want to use flowers for pooja. No point complaining as even my mothers are like that. It is a habit from their village days when flowers were abundant in their neighborhood and they feel like buying flowers when they only need two is silly :)

I would suggest put up the small board in the ground, like they have in the park, saying "Please do not touch the plants" or "Flower plucking will be fined". I pray that your plants get a chance to grow well.

My wife and I have always had really bad luck with growing plants, but we tried again in our balcony for our mothers. they were taking care of it. But the heat this year is just killing them all over again. We have had to bring them in to save them.

Fruits are a godsend this year. Have you ever come down to Pune? We have this thing called Mango Mastani which I am sure you will enjoy. Ping me if you ever come down!

Have you ever come down to Pune?

Yes, I have been there couple of times, as the company I work for is located there.

Oh fantastic. We should catch up when you are down here. Do ping. Probably I will DM you if you are on Discord.

I don't use Discord, but we will definitely catch up, if I come to Pune.

Hello dear friend @sanjeevm good morning
This is really chaos, I hope that all the work is completed soon and they can rebuild the property boundary wall

There is never a shortage of those people who do harm to nature by putting their hands on it. I'm really sorry about what happened, I hope you can do a great job this weekend.

How positive a person you are, to continue the garden despite what happens. It's a great attitude. Have a nice day.

Aww !
That's wickedness, for those ladies to had ruined the flowers just like that.... And beautiful flowers you got in there

I know it's been a while you have being doing some garden works and it's very great seeing you do this again. Lovely work brother.

oh wow! :(

FIGHTING!!

With CCTV next time :)

45 degrees Celsius is like insanely hot! When it's above 30, I am already melting...
Great plants!

That's awesome that the garden location is saved. It might be noisy for a while, and it might smell a bit because of the drain, but at least you still have a place to plant and grow beautiful flowers. I look forward to when these new ones that you planted finally bloom.

The downside of this future road is that, as soon as we get out, we land on the road and that is not safe for young kids who are going by cycle

Not safe at all, and particularly when the design speed of a road being constructed is more than 40 kmph.

They did a good job of fixing a temporary wall like the above, the view is from inside

That's part of the SOP in road construction in cities.

And since its harsh summer (temperature soaring to as high as 45°C - yes we were the third hottest place in the world on a day)

Not really good sign. BBSR was one the finest cities in terms of temp and environment 10/15 years back, sad that it has become a concrete jungle.

It was a nice virtual tour of your Garden Sir.

Thank you.

Have a great day.

Jai Jagannath.

Oh my goodness! That looks like a hot mess! They are supposed to start working on the main road outside my neighborhood soon and I have a feeling I am going to be in a similar situation!

They mesh around the whole place.
