RE: Open Letter to Dolphins and Whales - Growing My Support

in #growth6 years ago

I am also a small dolphin but with more SP available than you. I am happy to vote up your article's but lets face it... if you didn't have the respect in the community that you do.. your post may have been flamed down for asking things such as this.

You do get a lot more votes than me from the bigger guys, and its something I have had thoughts about. How do you attract them?

Having a dolphin sized account does not cut the mustard, but getting respected seems to be the answer. Maybe showing up at Steemfest and getting to know these people may do wonders. I can only try.

Sort:

this was very risky, and not something I did lightly. How did I get the support I currently have, to be honest I dont know, luck? Maybe hard work? Im honestly not sure, but I am extremely grateful.

Are you going to steemfest? How cool if you are, and yes I believe it will do wonders. One of the reason I did this post is because I can not go. My husband would have to take unpaid leave from work to mind the kids so its double the cost. Maybe next year (although I also said that last year)

thank you very much for your support and for stopping by this post

I am going to Steemfest. Anyone who is serious about Steemit really needs to go. Its a shame you are not as you would have been a popular person to meet, I'm sure.

Ah man i am so ragen i can not go. For my future here on steemit, well as you said, anyone serious about steemit. Im gonna miss out big time 😪

Easy:

  • Forget about getting huge upvotes.
  • Find something useful for others that you can provide and are good at.
  • Publish it because you are interested in it.
  • Communicate with readers in comments and on other related posts when somebody writes about it.
  • Do it every. Single. Day.
  • Repeat.

Thanks for the advice, but as someone who has been doing these things for 6 months, does get some attention and has a fanbase, its hardly the stuff I'm looking for :)

I guess your "problem" is the same as the rest of the posters - content. People live in illusions that their posts are useful and somebody is going to "pay" for it. Just because whales post crap and vote for each other, does not mean that they are going to vote for your crap the same way. They are not content creators and the system does not offer other ways to earn money, so they abuse it and post crap.

Think in other categories. Who are the guys with big money? What are they interested in? Do they care about your opinion on some subject? Why they should care about it?

I believe they need some useful information. In this case it is analysis of STEEM ecosystem, markets, users etc. No crap. They have to understand what is going on with their investments and in what stage it is right now.

The same goes with crypto analysts. Nobody cares about nice charts. They do care about hints and tips to earn money.

If you have tried 6 months and have not found a content that is useful, maybe it is time to start to think about changing something?
