If Crypto Is Changing The World, What Will The World Look Like?

A few nights ago, the boyfriend and I had a discussion about the potential impact crypto can have on the world and I thought I'd ask the questions we were asking here so to entice a discussion and to see what your ideas are.

Everything mentioned here is a 'what if' scenario and are hypothetical cases.

What will the world look like if everyone is financially abundant because of crypto and no one has to work anymore?

Does that mean that there will be a massive shift in how we have/maintain jobs? Do jobs like garbage removal somehow become even more automated so that very few people are involved in process?

What does this mean for the way our countries are governed? Will boundaries dissolve perhaps?

With the rise of crypto, there will be more billionaires (we might even have trillionaires), is this something we should be 'afraid of'?
If someone has so much capital, technically they could employ entire armies.

What happens to someone who is illiterate and unable to join the cryptorevolution and is left behind while the whole world moves in that direction?

The idea of having your money grow so much in such a short time. Is that even feasible? Is it realistic?

Will there be a time where paying with crypto is seen as the norm instead of fiat?

We had a full on hour long conversation about all the opportunities and challenges this could all present. And perhaps I'll share our thoughts here one day too. (Maybe in a podcast?)

In no way do I claim to understand or foresee the impact of crypto on our world, I just think the discussion is super interesting!

Looking forward to seeing what your ideas and thoughts are!

The floor (comment section) is yours!

Over and out,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the long run also crypto has to be earned somehow. Right now we are mostly in the 'printing' phase, so coins are abundant. But once they are all minted, it goes back to trading coins for work, goods... It is still money.

A societal turn towards a basic income or another concept alike might get us the "free-from-work - free-to-do".
Or maybe, like China is starting to do, bonuses for certain behaviours/activities online.

But somebody has to keep water, electricity, food and all coming. Maybe these will be prestigious jobs in the end?

There’s no wrong or right here 😉
Although I think you make a strong case that there will be a shift from fiat to crypto. We’re already seeing more jobs being paid in crypto on the daily.

I sincerely hope that they become prestigious jobs because well, without them, we’d be nowhere.
Vital to our existence.

I like the idea of a society in which the plumber's job earns him/her the most respect!

I think we’re still another generation or two from full adoption. I just encountered someone today who not only just started using plastic. That guy will likely never even look at crypto currency. There’s a strong will to remain ignorant among the more traditional minded folks.

I agree with you that it’s going to take longer than what a lot of people think it’s going to take. Right now I think it’s only 2-3% of the world’s population use crypto. That number needs to be WAY more before we see true adoption.

Thanks for your input Sinistry😁

I don’t really see many of these alt coins surviving for very long but Butcoin I can see it lasting as it’s the only coin with a monetary policy that is congruent with the deflationary forces we are experiencing through technology!

It’s the only coin that is actually designed to properly redistribute the gains of deflation away from centralized powers and to all Bitcoin holders

I think it’s hard to understand now for many and with all this alt coin noise it’s easy to get caught in the crazy

I do like the idea of people earning crypto and I guess it’s all good with experimenting that I don’t mind but for me Bitcoin is it

It’s really helping me save and change the way I see the world
