Earthquakes Ruleset and flight ability is one ability that the earth element is blessed with. I know a lot of cards that have this ability. In fact, whenever I see the earthquake Ruleset, the first element that comes to mind is earth, and one specific card that first comes to mind is the Regal Peryton. This card does not just have the flight ability. Its ability to even perform better than other flight ability-based card is extraordinary.
Maybe this is because of the speed, I cannot really tell. Maybe it's because it's a rare card. One thing I can tell you about this card is that against melee attack. 50% of the time, these cards can evade the attack of 3 or 4 melee cards alone and come out victorious to the frustration of the opponent.
For example, take a look at this game.
This REGAL survived the onslaught of these cards and came out victorious. Incredulous!!!
I was relying on the Katrelba Gobson to win the game. But the opponent came up with a different strategy. They came with cards that had double attack. In fact, two of their cards had double melee strike and were very pacy. My summoner reduced the speed, but the opponent still had enough pace to attack. However, I made a very huge mistake. I placed my Katrelba in the midst of two Matyr cards. So if my opponent was attacking from the front with magic cards, they'd still have to hit one of my cards which will buff my Katrelba, and if they were attacking from the back with sneak cards, then they'll still have to hit the Matyr card at the back.
I left a sneak card at the back which was my biggest mistake. In this position, I could have placed my Matyr card in the last position, but instead, I was focused on making sure the Katrelba was in the middle. In fact the strategy was to make sure the katrelba was so buffed up that his double strike would take out two to three enemies in one attack. However, adding a card that could further increase the buff of my Katrelba and I forgot to even pay attention to my Regal. However, the opponent finished my backline in a jiffy and ended up taking out the katrelba.
At this point, I felt the game was lost, but my Regal took up the buff after the last Matyr card was eliminated and went ahead to miss the attack of 3 Melee cards with double strike from two.
Another way I could have had a different outcome was putting the Regal at the back, just to protect the Katrelba. This strategy is to sacrifice the Regal so that the Katrelba can survive enough to attain some maximum level of bloodlust that will make it indestructible. Of course, I know the Regal will take a lot of melee attacks which it should 25% miss most of the time, and I'm 70% certain, it's one way I might have still won this game anyway.
There Is no predicting the opponent.
They came up with cards I never planned for, these are older-generation melee cards that are really potent. Speed, guile, beauty, efficiency, and the total cost of these cards would surely swallow my lineup.
One thing for sure is that the Regal was surplus to requirement in this game. It wasn't my main attacking threat. I just put it there to fill in the numbers.
One thing is that you can never predict the strategy of your opponent unless you're given some Ruleset of which you know what their likely choice of strategy will be. So this game is a case of depending on another card to win, but another card gives you the win. Classic case of the rejected stone becomes the cornerstone

Regal Peryton is definitely a great card. If luck is on your side, you can dodge a bunch of the attacks. It's actually a great card for the 5 mana cost.
