Esta será una semana muy estresante ya que en la escuela estan pidiendo muchas cosas por ser la semana aniversario de la escuela, realmente tenia que haber hecho dos cosas y solamente hice una porque no tengo tiempo de dedicarme a hacer tantas manualidades para la escuela, a pesar de que pidieron dinero para comprar decoraciones tambien quieren que nosotros hagamos decoraciones a mano, me parece bastante absurdo, en fin, solo accedí a hacer esta speech bubble que es como un dialogo de caricatura, por alguna razón querían que fuese con forma de pastel y con el numero 59 para hacer referencia a los años que esta cumpliendo la escuela.
This is going to be a really stressful week because the school is asking for so much since it’s the school’s anniversary week. I really should have done two things, but I only did one because I don’t have time to make so many crafts for the school. Even though they asked for money to buy decorations, they also want us to make handmade decorations—which seems pretty absurd to me. Anyway, I only agreed to make this speech bubble, which is like a cartoon dialogue. For some reason, they wanted it to be shaped like a cake and have the number 59 on it to mark the school’s anniversary.
Muy pocas veces he dibujado comida o dulces, asi que hacer el pastel fue un poco difícil y mas tomando en cuenta el tamaño que pidieron, de hecho, creo que tenía que ser más grande, pero es el tamaño máximo que pude lograr sin que me saliera deforme. Decidí hacer un pastel de chocolate con crema de fresas jaja, tambien hice el numero 59 en grande justo en el centro, el nro 5 había quedado super hermoso pero el 9 si quedo un poco extraño.
I rarely draw food or sweets, so making the cake was a bit tricky—especially given the size they requested. In fact, I think it should have been bigger, but this was the largest size I could manage without it turning out misshapen. I decided to make a chocolate cake with strawberry cream, haha. I also drew a big number 59 right in the center. The 5 turned out really beautiful, but the 9 ended up looking a little weird.
Después de hacer el boceto repase con marcador negro, intentando ser un poco mas precisa. Ignorando las líneas esquizofrénicas del boceto y luego borrando todo rastro del boceto a lápiz, dejando el dibujo bastante limpio, por cierto use una cartulina gruesa para este trabajo.
After sketching, go over it with a black marker, trying to be a little more precise. Ignore the jagged lines of the sketch and then erase all traces of the pencil sketch, leaving the drawing fairly clean. By the way, I used thick cardstock for this project.
El resto consistió en pintar usando lápices y marcadores, para la parte marrón tuve que usar colores obligatoriamente porque mis marcadores ya estan muriendo, los colores marrones que me quedan no son los mejores asi que no logre un color profundo como lo imaginé. Pero tampoco iba a estresarme demasiado por eso, al final es algo que es para la escuela y probablemente en dos días termine en la basura. Para el nro 59 use un marcador dorado, creo que fue lo mas satisfactorio de pintar.
The rest involved coloring with pencils and markers. For the brown parts, I had to use colored pencils because my markers are running out; the brown colors I have left aren’t the best, so I didn’t achieve the deep shade I’d imagined. But I wasn’t going to stress too much about it—after all, it’s just for school and will probably end up in the trash in two days. For No. 59, I used a gold marker; I think that was the most satisfying part of the project.
Termine el resto con marcadores rosas y lilas y una vez terminado recorte el pastel y le pegue un palillo detrás, pegar ese palillo fue terrible porque no me había dado cuenta que me quedaba poco silicón, asi que hice magia para poder pegarlo, espero que no se suelte jaja.
Finish the rest with pink and lilac markers, and once you’re done, cut out the cake and glue a toothpick to the back. Glueing that toothpick was a nightmare because I hadn’t realized I was running low on silicone, so I had to work some magic to get it to stick. I hope it doesn’t come loose, haha.

Entiendo perfectamente ese sentimiento de frustración cuando el colegio pide manualidades a contrarreloj, pero te aseguro que el detalle del marcador dorado en el número 59 quedó fino y le da un toque muy profesional. ¡Ánimo con el resto de la semana aniversario, seguro todo sale muy bien

I perfectly understand that feeling of frustration when the school asks for crafts at the last minute, but I assure you that the gold marker detail on the number 59 looks sharp and gives it a very professional touch.
