Disclosure Day

in #story17 days ago (edited)

The suspense has been building steadily on social media and the podcast circuits since the UAP briefings began in the US Congress last September. Ever since then enthusiasts and members of the UFO community have been speculating about whether or not the truth would ever come out.

President Trump made a statement this past February that disclosure would likely be happening this year. Early this morning the official Whitehouse account on X dropped this link to the first batch of files.

I haven’t had time to peruse all of the information yet. I hope to be able to spend more time with it this weekend but I’ve asked AI to summarize the highlights here:

This is the launch of the U.S. Department of War's PURSUE portal (Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters) for public release of government UAP/UFO-related records, following a directive from President Donald Trump.

Most important aspects of the May 8th disclosures:

  • First tranche released: 161 files (mostly FBI documents from an old case file series). These are unresolved cases — the government states it cannot definitively identify the phenomena due to insufficient data.

  • No evidence or conclusions confirming alien/extraterrestrial life, recovered technology, or extraordinary explanations. The materials are presented without official analysis, inviting public/private review.

  • Rolling releases planned: Additional tranches of declassified records will be posted every few weeks as more documents (tens of millions across agencies) are reviewed.
    war.gov
  • Context: Part of a broader Trump Administration push for "unprecedented transparency" on UAP/UFOs and related topics. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth emphasized ending secrecy that fueled speculation.
    war.gov
  • The site hosts the files (PDFs, images, etc.) for direct public access, with links to AARO for other historical records. In short, this is a major transparency initiative releasing raw, inconclusive historical documents rather than groundbreaking revelations. More is expected soon.

The UFO/Extraterrestrial phenomena has piqued my interest since I was a boy. I grew up about an hour away from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in central Ohio and we experienced several strange things during those years, first hand. Persistent rumors had been swirling about Wright Patterson being a repository for crashed craft, off-world biologics, and intelligence since the Roswell crash in the 1940s. The entire central Ohio area was an epicenter for sightings and phenomena, particularly in the 1970s through the 1990s.

Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes for this release of information. Although this first batch of files seem to be disappointingly vague I’m hoping that more substantial information will be revealed in future releases. At least this is a start.

Are they beings from other planets? From another dimension? Are they time travelers? A splinter civilization from Earth that somehow survived the last ice age with their technology intact? Is this an elaborate hoax to control or distract us? Are these things we're seeing in the sky our own advanced technology that has been hidden from the public for decades?

There are so many questions and, so far, so few concrete answers. So many of us want to believe that we must be careful about blindly accepting anything we're being told as the truth.

I do believe the truth is out there and too many people want to know for it to be kept secret forever. I have a feeling if and when it is released it will change our concept of the universe and our place in it—forever.

What are your thoughts/beliefs about the UAP/extraterrestrial phenomena?

All for now. Thanks so much for reading.

Sort:

It is high time the government begins to share this information. Looking forward to seeing not only what has been made public, but also how it will influence future conversations in the UFO community.

Yes, I just hope people are ready for it.

I'm definitely open to it all, but this doesn't seem like it is going to make any headway on a lot of the speculation. Like you said, hopefully the stuff they release in the future has a bit more meat to it.

It's hard for me to believe we're only intelligent life in the Universe. I think life is probably the rule, not the exception. A member of Congress, Tim Burchett, said about an hour ago that this is just the tip of the iceberg and the "Holy Sh!t" moment is coming in future releases. We'll see.

Well now that would be cool! :)

It would be, indeed. We're at such a crossroads now in so many ways. It's an exciting (and sometimes frightening) time to be alive.

I doubt the government will release anything earthshattering...on purpose anyway.

I never thought they would unless they're being forced to, for some reason. That could be the case here. They might be aware other countries were planning on doing this and they wanted to control the narrative.

I doubt extraterrestrial visitors are behind UAP reports. I suspect it's secret aircraft tests and human imagination adding nonexistent details to misunderstood sightings.

Have you ever seen someone completely misunderstand something fairly mundane, like the flat earthers who refuse to understand how cameras work? Now add science fiction cultural influences and crazy people to the mix alongside deliberate obfuscation by governments and corporations.

I'm cynical enough to assume any "disclosure" is another layer of coverups and distractions for the benefit of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, etc.

Skepticism is good when it comes to this kind of thing. My gut tells me it's a mix of both "ours" and "theirs" I'm just not entirely sure who they are.

I understand what you're talking about. I've heard that native people of South America couldn't even comprehend what the Spanish ships were when they arrived on their shores in the 1400s because they didn't have a frame of reference.

What do we know about the universe? Nothing. It's all speculation. We still can't agree on dark matter.

What's out there? I think our current state of understanding approximates the awareness of those ancients who thought the earth was the center of the universe.

How could we be the only intelligent life? It makes no sense to me.

I wasn't waiting for the release of those documents. Just a distraction. So much going on, it gives us something else to talk about besides war, gasoline, redistricting, and the next round of immigration raids.

I would say we don't know much—or at least mainstream science doesn't. Our accepted models of physics are riddled with assumptions and falsehoods so we can pretend we know more than we do.

I sometimes think about all we could learn from a civilization that's thousands or millions of years older than us. When I was writing Alarm Clock Dawn I constantly thought about how the universe might have a way of limiting the technological evolution of those who aren't spiritually advanced enough to handle the responsibility and implications of that tech.

I think humans, as a whole, might just not be responsible enough quite yet to be accepted into the fold of those other advanced civilizations zipping around the cosmos—especially the sociopaths that run our world. I'd say a lot of ordinary folks are already "there" or almost. I was curious about the disclosure documents but wasn't holding my breath. Most documentaries or any release of information on this topic ends up being a huge build up and then an even larger disappointment.

We'd be stupid to think we're alone in this universe.. but releasing the files.. another tactic to distract people from the Epistein files

I just don't understand how anyone could believe we're the only ones! What a sad universe that would be. I do believe distraction is one reason for this disclosure. I also think it's an attempt to build trust for an even larger release or possibly even the "Last Card" false flag operation that Werner von Braun warned about in the 1960s.

I'll start with the most important thing while reading and digesting anything: Discernment!
The veil is thinning, and as more people are awakening to the masquerade, unpopular questions arise. It's never about the mainstream narrative. Pointing attention toward one thing while executing on something entirely different is another famous trick. We're multidimensional beings, but we've forgotten how to tap into our innate capabilities. Man-made UFOs are fun vehicles ;)

For sure Krisz! We certainly live in an interesting age. I always said, when I was younger, that I want to live long enough to learn the truth about this. Those in power realize on some level that a new paradigm is coming where they will no longer be relevent. There's a lot of disinformation orbiting around this now. Graham Hancock said it best when he said, Humans are a species with amnesia.

Raw files and no alien tech yet? That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
