take a slow walk
and clear my head.
of daylight wash
down upon me
and take with it
all that makes
me feel incomplete.
of this golden hour
the world is pure magic,
and even the bones
of the city are beautiful.

ever more closely
to its salty lips,
near enough to whisper,
as I stand in the bay
it screams, telling me to stay
curious, hungry, hopeful even,
seeds of change
are often putting down
the deepest of roots
just before they break
through the unyielding
crust of this Earth
bringing with them
a brand new day.

Poetry should move us, it should change us, it should glitch our brains, shift our moods to another frequency. Poetry should evoke feelings of melancholy, whimsy, it should remind us what it feels like to be in love, or cause us to think about something in a completely different way. I view poetry, and all art really, as a temporary and fragile bridge between our world and a more pure and refined one. This is a world we could bring into creation if enough of us believed in it. This book is ephemera, destined to end up forgotten, lingering on some dusty shelf or tucked away in a dark attic. Yet the words, they will live on in memory. I hope these words become a part of you, bubble up into your memory when you least expect them to and make you feel a little more alive.

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.
These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you. Upgrade your life experience today for only $15.99 on Amazon.com.

Not easy, but worthy of an attempt. But that will make me my worthy successor if I do so.
My desire does not let me summit with a sense of completeness. There exists a dichotomy of a "complete" inner soul and an "incomplete" outer existence/physical existence. But I'm sure I will achieve an equilibrium condition at the summit.
Thank you so much, Sir, Once again it did arouse my soul.
You're welcome! Thanks so much for reading it and for the comment.

" it screams, telling me to stay

We have to stay curious and alive in this life!
there are so many people living like death walkers in this life...
Thank you! It's so important to stay passionate and find a way to truly keep our souls alive. It's not always easy but it's worth every effort!
As we all know that the way the world is going these days we are all living in a lot of tension, this tweet is saying that we should relax for a while and let the natural Visions should be seen, it will be beneficial that our mind will come to some peace and will start thinking in a good way. A man should never give up hope, if one day he is fulfilled with it, he becomes very worried, then the next day will surely be good for him, if he gives up hope and does not work hard, he will never succeed. It will not be possible.
Thank you!
Welcome
To me, Golden hours feels like evening, a time to contemplate one's life and enjoy the tenderness of the day. Beautiful. It's been long I read one of your piece
Thank you! There's something that is altogether different about that time of the day. It's a time for introspection.
In this poem, the poet is trying to say that, we all should wake early in the morning, go out to enjoy the morning walk and Sun rice, in this way we can stay calm all the day and our mind will be in peace :D I'm i right ?
This one is more about how change is beginning to happen before any evidence of it appears. Often we work and work and see no results and then quit too soon but patience leads to wonderful things.
Sounds like some really good parting words as you get ready to head off on your next adventure! That's the way I read it anyway! Safe travels!
Thank you @bozz! This is our last full day here and, guess what, it's raining! Lol. We're definitely ready to get back at this point.
Sorry it was just a little less than what you were hoping. Like they say... Into every life some rain must fall...
Isn't is grand how Nature can clear the mind, bring you closer to yourself, to your poetic source? I am right there with you on this one. Lovely message.
Thank you! Mother Nature never fails to help me in this respect. Walking Amstel used to always awaken the muse.
Amstel! It hasn't been long since he left us. How are you doing with that? It must be quiet without a beagle in your house!
Beautiful poetry about the life of a human being. The world of human life is of course inseparable from time. Time is the most precious thing. Have a nice day, Eric.
Thank you Eliana! I hope you're enjoying your week.
It is 11 a.m. in Venezuela and with my second cup of coffee, I read your poem. Each verse is a call for hope, but also to be thankful, to hope, to go on. I loved the whole poem, especially that last stanza. Each verse speaks to us of the silent transformation that sometimes we must undergo in order to become something better. Like the seed that is sown and breaks to begin to be the great tree, like the caterpillar that becomes a beautiful butterfly, like the baker who lets his dough rest to make his delicious bread, everything has its time and rhythm. Even human beings. This is your last week in Sedona and I hope that the moments you have lived will serve you to "harvest" memories, because remember that places grow inside people. A great Wednesday, Eric. Hugs
I appreciate it, Nancy! What a great breakdown of what the poem means. You definitely deciphered it. Take care of yourself and enjoy the rest of the week.
Along with the poetry that you have put the picture, it has also put four moons on the poetry. I wishes to immerse himself in reading this poetry, I often wonder how poets come up with such profound things when they write such poetry.
Thank you. I believe the words come from somewhere else. The poet is only the channel by which the poem is born into the physical word.
It is very important to take a break from your daily routine and spend some time and try connecting with the beauty of the world to refresh your mind and soul.
For sure!
What would a person be like if he never took risks? I'm not a fan of reckless risk taking. But if you don't risk anything, you won't achieve anything. Excellent poem. Thank you
Thank you! Yes, we must take measured risks or we gain nothing.
