Sometimes a person needs to say fuck it and just do something for themselves which is exactly what I did the other day.
It wasn't anything extraordinary really, just a walk in the botanic gardens where the leaves are turning with the seasons as autumn takes hold. It was colourful there, the turning leaves taking the place of flowers and providing a show of their own before they'll eventually fall. Afterwards we went for some lunch and sat there talking eating and drinking coffee for a bit then we went home. Nothing especially exciting really.
It was a nice walk though, restful despite the exertion, and it felt like a nice (colourful) gap slotted between the usually hectic nature of my life.

It may not be extraordinary, but for me it's a perfect plan. An escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life into a garden makes me think of a deep, deep breath that invites a pause to find that tranquility that easily slips away amidst all the noise.
We think alike. 😏
I prefer nature to cities so it makes sense I feel comfortable and "better" out there.
That sounds like a lovely break ^_^ It's getting more towards hiking weather for us over here as well, though we rarely visit one of our favourite spots anymore as we now have to do weekends like everyone else and that spot became everyone else's favourite over covid.
I'm really glad a lot more people are hiking a lot more regularly, it just gets REALLY crowded now and parking is impossible
Nature often provides free entertainment and it's somewhere I feel comfortable about makes sense to be there. We go to the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens several times a year and really enjoy it there. During the week is the best because there's rarely anyone there.
During the week is the best time for anything anywhere for that exact reason I find XD
The trouble is getting the time off work I guess.
A walk in the nature is always good, expecially if the alternative is just walk in some traffic or close yourself in a shopping mall
Do you have a favourite place you go and why? I imagine you'd have some really nice places around you.
There is a nice embankment of a big river here, pretty close, it's very good for a walking, you are surrounded by trees, so not too much heat in summer, you hear and see the river, there's even a little artificial waterfall
Sounds bloody perfect.
It might not seem like much, but it actually is. The autumn colours are beautiful and soothing; they help to recharge your batteries. It’s spring here, and on Tuesday I also went for a walk in a new spot they’ve created, full of flowering shrubs, ideal for getting away from the city, walking and enjoying a different landscape. I knew it, but my mum didn’t; it was lovely to see the joy on her face. She hadn’t walked that far since her operation. It was special.
A nice walk can heal the soul.
Absolutely!
Sometimes you just need those days. My wife always has lists and lists of stuff that needs to get done in her head, but days like this need to be added in for sanity.
Days like these silence the head-lists for a bit.
And maybe for now, that's enough, time, enjoy, and hope, happy day 🌹
Yes, perhaps.
