How would you describe your steem journey so far?

You don't have to be an expert to realize that activity is way lower the last few months. I know that the price of steem is probably the most important factor, but there are also cases where people just need a break...

Those of us who have been active, especially during this bear market will be benefited the most when things settle down...remember that.

I joined steem in January 2018...you know what that means, right? Yeah, during ATH's and hype...but what I want to know is how your steem journey has been up until now.

Are things playing out the way you were told / imagined?

I would never imagined that @steemit and @ned would act as they are doing...
No communication, no marketing, no business plan but only the the squezze of the golden chicken... nothing, just excuses. However I still think we can success being the best blockchain ever. As soon as they disappear from here.

I don't think I had any preconceived notions of how it should be when I joined being a new platform. It's bound to have its ups and downs along the way. I think there are plenty of people putting a ton of work on posts and getting anemic rewards for it who are losing interest though. Trying to delegate and join curation trails to get more of my SP out there with more eyes to distribute it.

Pretty good and safe way to distribute some votes. Especially when your schedule is loaded...

When I joined Steem, I really had no expectations about it. I just thought it was a nice experiment for me to try something different and dip my toes into cryptocurrencies.

Then I discovered Steem Monsters. I'm not really big on trading card games. I'm mostly into MMOs, but the idea of owning in-game assets with value in the real world got me interested. So, I got the starter pack, which was just worth $5 back then, bought a few booster packs, and joined a lot of contests for Steem Monsters cards. Now, I'm really enjoying the game and it has been where I spend most of my time on the blockchain.

It's also the first game I have played that isn't a money drain. On the contrary, it's even paying me back for the time spent with tokens and game cards that can be traded for real money. So, ever since paying for the starter pack and a few booster packs, everything else I spent on the game came from the game itself.

So, what started out as fun blogging and crypto experiment has become one of my favorite and most profitable gaming experiences.

Believe it or not I bought a few packs when the game launched and for some reason I never played...I still own them actually and I don’t know what to do with then nor if they have any value right noW

Do you mean unopened Alpha Booster packs or Beta Booster packs? Because it would be really cool if they're Alphas! Unopened Alpha packs are no longer available for sale and are becoming rarer by the day. There were only 300,000 Alpha packs sold by Steem Monsters, but they're all gone and Steem Monsters will not create more in the future.

Also, I just checked Steem-Engine.com, and out of the 300,000 sold, only 15,652 remain unopened and in the hands of users like you, at the moment. Now I don't know how unopened Alpha Packs are being traded specifically, but the lowest bid price on them in Steem-Engine.com is 6.1 STEEM in Steem-Engine. Given how popular the game is and the special bonuses Alpha cards give players, I wouldn't be surprised if they become more valuable in the days to come.

Of course, there's no need to be disappointed if they're Beta packs, either. Sure, they're not as rare with 900,000 in existence. And you could still buy them from Steem Monsters directly, but they'll be running out too. I think only about 329,000 packs are available for sale. So, it's just a matter of time before they become as rare as the Alphas.

I also joined Steem in January 2018. And the first thing was Steemgar, you know :D. If you never had friends before, now you had them. In real life I am sometimes afraid to say something, here I wanted to say it, his thoughts. His freedom of thought. Even if I don't write much. Time is missing, you know best what it is like when time is missing.

It's more fun and dynamic than I thought I signed up for in December 2017 (just a blogging website... right?) - also I have been able to earn more STEEM and gain more personal and meaningful connections and relationships than I ever expected I would gain here. Not that I made predictions or had expectations, just... If I look back now what I achieved and build in 1,5 years it's more than I thought :-)

Nowadays I don't even use Steemit for blogging.
Many people write blog posts, but only a few people cares about other people's blog posts.
No matter what I do, what I post, what I write about, almost no one cares about my blog posts. I am earning a few cents (or nothing at all) with my blog posts.
This is why I don't use Steemit nowadays.
I mostly use dPoll. I still earn a few cents, but at least I get real, human interaction, which is very rare on Steemit.
Many people left (and still leaving) Steemit and the Steem blockchain.
I understand them at some level.
Even I left Steemit and the Steem blockchain a few times, but I always returned to them so far.
Nowadays I use Steemit only for upvoting posts/comments, and writing and editing comments.
Nowadays there are more than 1.2 million Steem accounts, but only less than 50 000 accounts are active daily.
I think that this says a lot about the Steem blockchain and about the Steem economy.

I'm trying to have always a plan B. Or also C. That was one of them.
