They were nicely growing on a hill facing the ocean. The breezes blow warm from the south Pacific, so this helps keep this area relatively warm in winter.

Yellow is kinda an "explosive" color when we talk about flowers.
These daffodils usually go dormant over winter, and they appear in Spring. But this year, the bulbs decided to sprout earlier than usual. That hill is dotted with yellow.

The word in Spanish is almost identical to our Portuguese. For us, the word for sunflower is pronounced "girassol".
When I first saw "girassol", I read it as one would pronounce it in Spanish but with a longer 'S' sound. Then I heard the audio of the Portuguese version, and it's very different.
