I powered up 150 Hive today, and got my badge - second tier Bee I reckon!
HiveBuzz is not only a great way to find yer badge, it shows your lifetime achievements on the chain too! Thanks to @arcange!
Below is my Personal Hive stats review for August 2020. These stats are approximate.
Along with an extreme minority of users, I Powered Up 100 Hive for HPUD day.
I use mainly the following sources to get these stats:
- HiveStats, maintained by the Leo Devs.
- The 'tools' section of @Peakd
- HiveBuzz - from @acrcage
- @abh12345's Engagement League
Headline Stats
- Hive Power - 46 050 (up from around 43 000)

July 2020 Stats
Hive Power and Hive Rewards
- Hive Power = 46 000, up from 43 000 30 days ago, so that's a 3000 Hive Power increase.
- 1300 Hive in author rewards in July
- 350 Hive in Curation rewards
I'm doing quite well with the author rewards, thanks to some large autovotes, including some from Rancher, which is a bit odd, and a few DVs from blocktrades as counters.
My curation returns are currently at 11.6, at one point a few days ago they'd dropped to <11% which is dismal. Don't know what was going on there!
I must have bought in around 1300 Hive - I think that's some Blurt and a little Steem I had on the exchanges that I couldn't be arsed to save for the possibility of a crazy pump.
LEO Power and LEO rewards
- LEO Power = 20 800 , up from 16 300 30 days ago, so that's a 4500 LEO Power increase in 30 days
- 800 LEO in author rewards in August (up from 570 in July)
- 500 LEO in Curation rewards (up from 400 in July)
- Probably around 410 (ish) LEO in delegation and mining rewards
- So that's around 2800 LEO bought in.
I'm quite happy with that, especially the increase in author and curation returns.
I'm one of the T20 earners of LEO, which is nice! I might have to push that up to a grand, that'd be a cool September challenge!
Splinterlands progress and cards
I made Champions 1 twice again in the last month - managed to finish at rank 83 with almost 5000 points.
I find the game a little dull TBH - My deck isn't maxed and in C1 you just get too many Yodins and/ or maxed decks with pounding magic or sneak and OMFG - YAWWWNNN - I lose because someones spent twice as much money on their deck as I have.
My collection is valued at around $2300, and I've got around 400 000 DEC, which I'm stacking for land.
I only made one major purchase last month which was a maxed Valnamor water summoner - he's quite handy, I traded in my Alrics and a few other cards for him.
I'm not in the slightest bit tempted by the Dice - in fact the only reason I might buy some is to use up my potions.
Number of Posts
So I managed around 35 posts, which is in line with my efforts to write more for LEO - I've been quite content upping my writing slightly, it feels like a good time to write, and I've sorted out my writing strategy into different themes, or really consolidated it, it was already sorted, as i outlined here!
Number of comments
With around 450 comments I'm happy with that - It's one of the first things I do in the morning, and after lunch and dinner, is check my feed and drop in comments as appropriate, and reply, naturally!
Qualitative observations
Not too much to say, I guess things have been bimbling along really!
No major dramas, I think we've bottomed out in terms of users and the price, we're now stagnant rather than declining.
I guess the only way is up?!?
You'd certainly believe that if you've bought/ 'earned' as much LEO as I have the past couple of months! That was a great time to increase my holdings by 40%!
@Exodegame seems ready to kick off to the next phase pretty soon, so that's exciting!
And I'm top of the @cryptobrewmaster leaderboard, yay! Here's my referral link for that cheers!

Solid work!
You were stacking LEO at the right time :)
I'm quite happy TBH!
I see HIVE went down today after a small rise yesterday, so it doesn't look like the community is buying enough to make much difference.
I see people going on about DeFi, but I'm not sure what it means for me. I am not much of an investor and I'm happy with what I make on Hive. The issue is if big investors pull out to get into other things.
Yes we might well see a few people selling of Hive to get into that, it's not for me.
I guess it'll mean our stake is worth more?
It all depends on what the markets think. We need content and dapps that add value to HIVE so that it is worth buying.
You've been monstering it mate! Nice one! Only just got back from work so need to do my HIVEPUD post, going for the absolute Hench Bee for my power up 😁
Good luck!
Looks like you have been very busy with all the cool DAPPs we got going here on the blockchain.
I play the Splinterlands too, but by no means at your level. I have made it to Champion II twice yet not due to the power of my cards that is for sure!
Thanks for powering up from a fellow Hiver!
Hey cheers, yes I enjoy my time on Hive, a bit too much, of got it going on two PCs ATM!
Congratulations @revisesociology! You received a personal badge!
Participate in the next Power Up Day and try to power-up more HIVE to get a bigger Power-Bee.
May the Hive Power be with you!
