Steemmonsters Tournaments

As you probably already know, the Steemmonsters tournaments have been launched. Several tournaments have been played, loads more are yet to come.

If you want to stay up-to-date about new tournaments, you can check the Steemmonsters tournaments calendar.

One of the things that struck me was that all tournaments are played according to the leagues: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. Which is normal, because those are the options you get when you hit the 'Challenge' button.

Lower levels

But you know me: I'm always caring for the little guys. When the distribution of free booster packs ended after season 2, I started wondering what this would mean to all the people who were playing at level 1 and had no money to buy their way up.

Did they find a way to level up? Or are they still playing at level 1?

The Idea

The easiest tournaments are the bronze tournaments. A limit has been set to summoner level 2.

Since I lost in the first round of 2 Bronze tournaments a couple of days ago, I wonder if people who are playing a level 1 deck have any chance of winning such a tournament.

So the idea sprouted to organize a tournament for level 1 deck players only. Prizes could be booster packs, so they might be able to grow their decks.

Now, the problem is that I don't have a clue if there are still enough 'level 1 deck' players to set up something like this.

That's why I've set up this poll.

I would give it a shot hey you have to be in to have a chance to win, I have seen mention of the tournaments but havent entered any yet, I must checked out how you can join them

Tournaments are organized using Challonge until tey will become automated next month.
You can find the tournament calendar here: https://teamup.com/ksqichvsz7xg679hhr

Each listed tournament gives you more info about the place you need to go to to join.

Since it is new, people are still experimenting, trying to find the best way to organise them, so some go very smooth and organized, and some can be a little chaotic.

My best experiences wdre the tournaments organized by @crystalhuman and @travelgirl. If you want to start somewhere, I can recommend those.

Thanks for the info, I will check out the links and may well try to join a tournament soon :)

great to see that you like the tournaments we organised. hope to see you in our next one soon :)

I can't wait ;0)

This is really 2 separate questions.

The first part, do I own a L1 deck is pretty simple, no I do not, but the second part is a little more complex.

My understanding of the way the challenges work, is similar to leveling up through the ranked levels. When you're playing at a lower level, your Summoners and Monsters are restricted to operate at the maximum level for rank you're playing in.

So would I play a Level 1 tournament? Absolutely.

That's not entirely correct, since we only have bronze, silver etc tournaments.
Bronze caps you cards at summoner level 2, which means people with a level 1 deck have little chance to win.

But you're right about it being 2 questions - maybe I should have split them up...

I haven't checked, but doesn't the challenge option also let you choose Novice which I believe equates to a Level 1 deck?

I only just fount out about that. Simply overlooked it. Unfortunately, you'll have the very experienced players join again... I need to give this some more thought...

Experienced players will still have the card limitations though, and if you're used to playing maxed decks, you can become reliant on those additional abilities.

Alternatively, you could just make it an "invitational tournament"

"But you know me: I'm always caring for the little guys" So great to see this and if only many others would also embrace this habit with their hearts, we can certainly make the steemit world a better place. I unfortunately don't play. Blessings!

Thanks, @papilloncharity.
It just comes natural to me to tfy to make sure everybody gets the same opportunities. The main reason I grew my account was to be able to help the newcomers overcome all the hurdles you face when just starting out.

After my first couple of months drifting on the sea calked SteemIt I was picked up by the Newbieresteemday team. Ever since, I know they are behind me. We've all grown a lot, but Most people who were a member back then are stilling doing their part to support the newcomers. I also know a lot of redfish who are doing everything they can - with their own limited resources - to help out others.

Sometimes I feel like there are only few people who care, but then I take a closer look and find out there are more than you'd think.
Of course, you can never have enough people willing to help the small accounts. SteemIt is top heavy already, and there are a lot of rules in place to discourage people who are just starting out. But without new redfish being able to grow their account SteemIt doesn't even have a chance to survive.

Thanks for contributing to the dPoll content.

The answer to your first question is yes for everyone. It doesn't matter the level of your cards as they get reduced to the max allowed in each league. For example if you created a novice tournament then anyone who enters will have any cards they use in that tournament reduced to level 1 cards for the duration of their game play in that specific tournament.

My answer is yes for your second question.

Oops, my mistake. I only noticed there was a 'novice' level to select about an hour ago.

In fact, that messes up part of what I had in mind. Because all the experienced players could join too...

Thanks for the info, @rentmoney

You could always make it a " private " game. Players cards can be seen via peakmonsters so you could just exclude/ kick the more experience players from your tournament that try to sneak in.

I would definitely vote for YES! and I made the different now.. LOL
