Description from Strava:
The Henlow Bridge Lakes parkrun was cancelled last week as the course was waterlogged, but it was back on today. The weather has been mixed, but was a good temperature for running and the course was not too muddy or slippery. You still really needed trail shoes.
Most of the regular crew were at the start for a quick chat before we set off. I never find it easy, but I gave it what I could and tried to keep going. I was quite happy not to be sliding around so I could concentrate on running. Plenty of people overtook me, but I do my own 'race'. I was fairly happy with my time that was similar to my other runs this year. I hope to improve on it. As usually I was just about in the top third of the 154 finishers.
I stopped by to see a friend for a coffee and chat on the way home. He is busy making music that helps him cope with his mental health issues. As I left him I met a parkrun friend who walked back with me.
Today was the first time for a local 'repair cafe'. This is run by the council as somewhere people can bring items that need fixing and volunteers try to help them out. One of my friends was ready with various tools. It was fairly quiet, but a couple of people brought in lamps that needed attention. I hope more will hear about it and get involved. I will see if there are any ways I can help out.
A couple of other friends turned up and we had a chat over drinks and cake.
After lunch we were out shopping for a few things in Stevenage. It was really busy in the retail park where it was hard to find a parking space. I picked up a box to store my 3D printing supplies and some wood for a new window sill.
I hope you enjoy your weekend.

154 is a decent size crowd. Henlow must be bigger than I imagine, grassed courses seem to keep numbers lower out here. Do you get plenty of tourists?
Henlow is not big, but people come from surrounding villages. Hitchin is the nearest town, but it does not have its own parkrun. There are a few events within 20 miles. We do get a fair few tourists. We run around a campsite and get some of the campers.

not so bad? That's incredible by my standards :)
It's all relative and my pace would be slow for some people. I feel I could be quicker, but I need to figure out how to get there.
