Top 5 Books I Read In 2017

in #life8 years ago

My New Year's resolution for 2017 was to read at least 1 book a month. I accomplished my goal easily this year. Mainly due to an obsession that lasted two months where I couldn't put down a single Clive Cussler novel.

This year I read some fun novels and some insightful books. and here are the five I recommend the most.

5 - Coral Castle - McClure - Heffron

A wonderful book about the life and incredible accomplishments of Edward Leedskalnin. Not only did he create something that amazed people in the early 20th century, it even amazes us now. This is a short book, but a great read.

4. Atlantis Found - Clive Cussler

I've had this book for years and started reading in March and finished in two days. That started a Cussler whirlwind where I read several of his works. Atlantis Found takes the dashing main character, Dirk Pitt, around the world chasing the remnants of the Nazis. An adventure right from the start and I couldn't put it down.

3. Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook - Gary Vaynerchuk

If you do any kind of marketing or advertising in the digital age. This is a must read. Gary has a unique style of his own and he really does want you to succeed. It is an easy book to read and literally changed my mindset on different digital marketing techniques and mentality. I strongly recommend learning about GaryVee.

2. Shockwave - Clive Cussler

The opening for this book was fantastic. One of the best stories of adventure I have ever read. It isn't going to win any literary award, but it was a ton of fun to read. This is one book that I read twice. From boats set adrift to the fall of the diamond industry, this book had it all.

1. Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert T. Kiyosaki

Few books have caused me to really change my perception about life and this book did it. It taught me a new way of looking at money and how to actually use it to build wealth. This book really did change my life in some ways. Not to be cliche, but it really did. This is a must read for anyone that is interested in really understanding financial freedom.

NEXT ONE THE LIST

The Last Ballad - Wiley Cash

Wiley and I went to high school together. We played on the same basketball team so of course I am going to support my old friend. He just happens to be one of the brightest rising stars in literature. He is an amazing writer and I can't wait to read his third book.
