The Portrait

in #photography10 years ago (edited)

I've always been interested in photographing people.

Whenever possible, I prefer to take portraits of people that don't fit the norm. Sure, you've got your family portrait, senior high school portrait, couples & engagement portraits, and even wedding portraits. But to me, those are standard. Those are images everyone gets, much like high school yearbook photos.

I'm talking about spontaneous portraits people get just because.

Some awesome photos Winston. I like portraits a lot more than scenic shots.

I tend to as well. There's more there. Portraits don't have to be boring. Some can have awesome backstories.

Yea these are always a lot more interesting.

Thanks.
Going through my collection of photos from the past decade, I came to the conclusion that regular ol' portraits are just so boring. I'm elated to take them for people because I know they love them, but there's not much I'd post from those to brag about them. There's nothing special about those pics to anyone but the people in them and their families.

Do you shoot, @billykeed ?

people are my favourite subject to. I love catching people when they don't realise you are taking a picture, especially children their expressions when they are lost in their own little worlds are amazing.

No kidding, right? LOL
We've got a few of those as well. :)

so sweet, her expression is every type of adorable.

Very good portraits! The first is my best!

LoL Yeah it's very in-your-face, for sure. I figured it would make a catchy thumbnail for the post.
