Aceh is a disaster prone area. The great tsunami disaster hit Aceh on December 26, 2017. The tsunami is predicted to come back to Aceh.
A team of researchers from Unsyiah and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) predicted that Aceh might be hit by another tsunami.
This is in accordance with historical evidence found in research at Guha Ek Luentie (cave dung bat) at Gampong Meunasah Lhok, Lhoeng Sub-district, Aceh Besar.
Based on the research that has been started since 2013 and it is known big tsunamis have occurred in Aceh since 7,400 years ago. It is seen from the layer of the sendimen in the cave. The repetition of tsunamis occurs in different time ranges, ranging from 2,000 years to 100 years.
But researchers can not predict when the tsunami will happen again in Aceh. This is because in previous studies it appears to be irregular in recurrent tsunami
