The 25th of May was the first official day of Whisky Festival on Islay and the Open day for Lagavulin Distillery.
Traditionally our day started not with Lagavulin though but with Bowmore - today they were selling the first of their 2 Feis Ile 2018 releases, i.e. Bowmore 15 YO, marriage of some of our finest Oloroso Sherry casks.

So yes, Bowmore bottle!
Only 3000 of bottles available and the first half went on sale today. The sales started at 10 o'clock, we were on spot 1 hour and a half in advance not to miss our chance! Bowmore bottles are always of high demand, thus line was pretty long...=)

Let’s move to Lagavulin now as it as much interest too!
Lagavulin Open day of last year was not very successful because of the weather – it was raining and dead cold. This year the weather was just amazing – hot and sunny, great day to spend outside!
It sits comfortably in Lagavulin Bay on Islay between Laphroaig and Ardbeg. Officially dates from 1816, it is a well known fact that in 1742 there were at least 10 illicit stills on the distillery.
We arrived just in time to film you all fun!
