Is a typical African youth smart?
Perhaps, this is not the right question because in reality a typical African kid can arrange a meeting involving Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg and sell Mark Zuckerberg without his knowledge, to Bill Gates; for 500 usd!
Perhaps, the word smart is just subjective in this case because in reality, we very much doubt that any human living, is not smart.
If you are smart in creating a space shuttle to the moon; doesn’t mean an African kid won't beat you when it comes to making a kite that can fly indestructibly to the SUN!
Yes, you studied Phd PHARMACY but there are many natural herbalists in Africa, who can concoct tree barks and mahogany leaves into poison antidotes, without having seen the 4 walls of a school!
You are needing a meter to know that the radiator of that car is faulty; but there are many road-side African mechanics, that can tell you instantly that radiator of the same car is faulty, just by looking at the color of the car's exhaust smoke!
A once cattle-rearer African, who turned into a money changer, can tell you how many leaflets of banknotes are in that stack merely by looking at it or hand-weighing it.
A typical African hustler can tell you how much just came of the ATM, just by the way the ATM coughed!
Now if you don't call all these smart, i wonder what words we could use to describe the above.
Bottomline is, same as there are smart people originating from more developed places in the world; Africa holds it own!
Looking at modern generations, can Africa compete?
The abrupt quick answer; is a fat YES!
Put in the same in the same lab as any genius in the world, an African kid, same as any any kid has a chance!
Considering that most parts of Africa isn't developed however, there are setbacks! Thus, a level-playing field is all that's needed and this is where blockchain comes in and in this case the steem blockchain!
Africa is growing on steemit and there is no doubt that this will continue and we tell you this for a fact; "Even if an African cattle-rearer finds himself mistakenly on steemit, while milking cows with one hand; he will eventually figure out how to code and create virtual cow milk!"
