The sound of my alarm wakes me up at exactly 4:00 AM. My eyes are still heavy with sleep, but I know there is great blessing in these early hours. Without delay, I get up and head to the kitchen for sahur, the pre-dawn meal before fasting. The food on the table is simple yet meaningful—it will be my fuel for the day ahead. A final sip of water marks the end of sahur as the time for imsak approaches.
After eating, I prepare to go to the mosque for Fajr prayer. The early morning air is cool, and the dark sky begins to lighten. Inside the mosque, there is a sense of peace. The worshippers stand in neat rows, facing the qibla with deep devotion. After completing the prayer, I sit for a moment, take my Qur’an, and immerse myself in its recitation. It is a moment of tranquility, as if all the worries of the world disappear while my lips utter the sacred verses of Allah.
By midday, I continue my spiritual journey by attending an Islamic study session with Ustaz Zakaria. Every word he speaks feels refreshing, providing new insights into life and the meaning of worship. The discussion is rich and meaningful, deepening my understanding of Islam and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
As the afternoon arrives, hunger starts to set in, reminding me of the importance of patience during this holy month. I head to the market to buy food for iftar, the meal to break the fast. The market is bustling with people looking for their favorite dishes. The aroma of fried snacks, sweet kolak, and refreshing drinks fills the air, tempting everyone who passes by. But I know that fasting is not just about avoiding food—it is about self-control and discipline, a lesson I strive to embrace.
Today has been a day full of blessings. Ramadhan teaches me that fasting is not just about abstaining from eating and drinking; it is about strengthening my connection with Allah, seeking knowledge, and practicing patience. When the Maghrib call to prayer finally echoes, I will break my fast with gratitude, knowing that another day of devotion has passed.
Ramadhan always brings warmth and meaning to every daily routine.
