What is an AMA?
AMA is a format popular on Reddit where one person offers to answer questions for a limited period of time.
How long will I answer questions?
I will usually answer them pretty quickly, and I should be around for a few hours. I will continue to answer them as they come in. I am going to hop out in a few hours to go see Violent Santa but will be back to answering questions after.

How can an average person protect themselves and their privacy if quantum computing became advanced?
You really can't, not until more packages support post-quantum encryption. It's coming and likely will come sooner than quantum computing can break encryption.
NordVPN for example already has post-quantum encryption support as an option. Bitcoin, Ethreum, most major tokens are working hard on a solution.
It will take time, but quantum breaking encryption will most likely take far more time.
What single-board computers do you think could take the throne from Raspberry Pi as the hobbyist standard, and do you think open-source hardware initiatives like RISC-V will play a role?

I don't like it.
Personally I kind of gave up on single board computers. Mini PCs have come so far they have almost eliminated the advantage of single board computers.
I still use a few Pis but I don’t see me buying anymore. I’m not sure what will replace it. I do feel ARM is going to get a lot more common since Apple set the stage with their M1 architecture.
While a lot of SBC are superior to the Pi their lack of software and hardware compatibility always make it as a compromise.
Ever since our chat about mini PCs, I can't stop looking at them, and am tempted to buy them to run a back up witness node. Why do they seem so appealing, apart from the low power draw? Is it because I can have 16 of them in the space one full size ATX pc would take up?
Performance to power ratio at an affordable price.
I replaced dual Xeon 4U server with a couple $375 mini pcs and got faster performance for 1/10th the power draw while also being clustered.
My entire cluster stack runs in about 30W while serving 3 VM and almost 80 containers with very snappy performance.

For Hive’s improvement, if the platform adds a feature like a launchpool where people can voluntarily stake Hive and earn rewards (just like Binance Launchpool).

I can't remember, for servers now do you just cluster mini PC's? Would you ever buy a full blown server again? Do you use AWS at all? For the clustered mini PC's are you using ProxMox VE?
I have a three mini pc Proxmox cluster.
I have a full server as a truenas server NAS with a mini pc with usb drive as back up NAS.
Then I have a machine for AI.
I do not use AWS but I do have servers in different countries as well as vpses.

Do you know when is the next Hive hard fork? Or will it happen this year or next year? I saw blocktrades say a while ago it will be early 2025 obviously that has changed...

Each AMA I do, I get fewer and fewer responses and I don't think it is for lack of questions.
Yeah, probably as many people these days (including myself) need to find new jobs in their area as not only the German job market is fucked.

One quick question on abuse fighting. Self voting comments by whales isn't an abuse of reward system. Would like to know your views on the same. There are many comments for post which is just giving an automated summary are getting $100+ of Hive rewards..
