RE: Ask Me Anything - Marky Edition - April 2025

The fact we still don't have smart contracts is imo a big problem. A lot of the more interesting uses requires smart contracts, as well as keeping things decentralized.

The complexity is a big problem and why I have been bringing up on-boarding a lot, which is more than just marketing.

Sort:

You said anything so here it goes...
You have 290 million egg laying hens, of which 82.5 out of a hundred of them lay one egg a day. How many eggs is that in one year and what is the plus or minus sum at the end of the year if 9 million dozen eggs are sold daily.

No idea, depends on how much you sell the eggs for.

Not pricing, the plus sum being after the total sum of eggs in a year is found, how many are left after 9 million dozen a day is sold, or the negative sum.

Yeah, many hope VSC is our smart contracts savior. 👼
It’s easy enough to onboard someone. It’s after they are on where the complexity fucks it up with that feeling lost factor. Communities were talked about as providing a place to go to for your interests…but they dont really work this way, and you may find some community that sounds interesting, but often you get there and its just vacant.
Very little is intuitive on hive. Your really need to be a persistent and dogged personality type to muddle through and find your way. Most people cant be fucked if its not easy.

Again, users. For example, if I want to talk about an RC-10 RC car, I put big tires on the back and my gearing is off, I need to know what gear ratio I could use. If I hop on Reddit, I'll get 10+ replies. If I do it on Hive, I'll be lucky if someone even knows what an RC-10 is.

On hive you’d be lucky if a person even sees it. Questions and content just getting tossed into an observer less abyss.

Another small but important thing... take all these new users on boarded at talent land. It fucking tedious to track them. I'd love some easy mechanism to tag them as new users onboarded at talent land. Like a school of minnows..that i could just pop back to and see if any of them posted again and support them. Maybe you could make some favorites feed category in peakd and manually bring them all there...but ffs its too tedious.

Wow @buttcoins! I've been reading from the beginning, and you've really spoken a lot of sense here. I really hope something like this comes to happen soon 🙌
