They both are fully functional and still do everything that they were designed to do. The market however is pretty dead, like most Hive Engine projects.
I was planning on making a game or two with punks, but for various reasons, I never did. I also planned on collaborations with it, but they never happened (outside of a small one with Rising Star game). Punks was a proof of concept to show what can be done and hasn't been done before.
As for STEM, the scotbot system on Hive Engine is in such bad shape, I can't see building anything with it. Most tribes are on Hive are dead. I can't justify the time to build an entire caching front end like LEO as there is no demand just to have a usable front end. LEO has the unique advantage in that everything that do is on topic. STEM users don't care about liquidity pools, farm tokens, Defi, and all that shit.
I think, you can definitely build some niche projects with both of them, given the technical expertise you have, as well as the stake that you can use for rewarding people and make them shine. Hope you may reconsider to not only survive them but make one of the best projects.
